🌍 Global Wind Day 2026 | Inspiring the Next Generation Through Wind, Nature & Community 💨
To mark Global Wind Day 2026, we were happy to support a day of learning and discovery that connected young people with the power of wind energy, the natural environment, and the role renewable energy plays in building a more sustainable future.
From exploring nature to learning how wind energy helps power our communities, the day highlighted the importance of fostering curiosity, environmental awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
As the renewable energy sector continues to grow, inspiring and engaging young people today helps nurture the innovators, engineers, environmental scientists, and community leaders of tomorrow.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Gerry Mc Donagh.
Gerry was our Business Development Manager and the driving force behind many of our successes at Galetech. Over the past five years, we have been truly fortunate to have Gerry as part of our team and our lives. He enriched this workplace in ways that go beyond words.
Gerry was one of those truly rare individuals whose presence transformed a room the moment he walked in - often announced by a song before he even reached his desk. His warmth, laughter, and infectious positivity made every day brighter.
A true professional in every sense, Gerry gave as much of himself to the people around him as he did to his work. He had a particular gift for making people feel welcome - new faces in the company never went unnoticed by him. He made a point of introducing himself, taking the time to put newcomers at ease and ensure they felt part of the team from day one. That warmth and thoughtfulness said everything about the kind of person he was, and his memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all of us at Galetech Group.
Our heartfelt thoughts and sincerest condolences go to Gerry’s family, friends, and all who loved him dearly.

🍦 A Sweet Treat for Our Local Communities 🍦
Yesterday, students from Gaelscoil Bhréifne, Playschool, Laragh NS, Clifferna NS, Drung NS, Drung No. 1 NS, and Kill NS enjoyed a visit from Hamilton's Ice Cream as part of a community initiative supported by Galetech.
With the summer holidays just around the corner, it was a nice way to mark the end of the school term and bring a few extra smiles to the day.
Supporting local communities is an important part of what we do, and we're always pleased to contribute to initiatives that create positive experiences for young people and families across the areas where we operate.
