We’re delighted to host a special May Day Celebration of Workers’ Rights and Social Justice at Priory Market.
This event is a chance to reflect on the progress made for workers, and to talk honestly about the changes still needed to create fairer workplaces and stronger protections for everyone.
🎤 Guest Speaker: Sinéad Gibney TD
We are honoured to welcome Sinéad Gibney, who will speak on the importance of workers’ rights and the ongoing fight for dignity, fairness and equality at work. Before entering politics, she served as Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission and continues to be a strong advocate for fair pay, the right to organise, protection from workplace retaliation, and equal rights for all workers.
🏭 Tallaght’s Working History
We’ll also hear from a wonderful couple who once worked in this very building when it was Telectron, the company that built Ireland’s first microchips and employed over 500 people in Tallaght. They’ll share personal memories of factory life, the history of the building, and what working life was like before Telectron closed in 1983.
Join us this May Day for a morning of conversation and reflection, and stay with us throughout the day as we celebrate workers past, present and future.
