What an incredible achievement for Kerry at the National Final of the Student Enterprise Awards 2026! 🎉
I am absolutely delighted for the students, teachers, parents, mentors and schools involved in this year’s competition. With over 16,000 entrants nationwide across six categories, bringing home two National Awards is a remarkable accomplishment.
A huge congratulations to: 🏆 Katie Walsh from Castleisland Community College, whose business Eyes For All won the Greg Fry Shining Star Award in the Intermediate Category.
🏆 Lucy O’Brien from Killorglin Community College, winner of the Start Up Stories competition in the Intermediate Category with Lucy Bakes.
Well done also to our other fantastic Kerry finalists:
👏 Stella Sprays from Intermediate School Killorglin
👏 Duckers Designs from St. Brendan’s College, Killarney

These achievements reflect the creativity, innovation and determination of young entrepreneurs across Kerry. Special thanks and recognition to teachers Áine Culloty, Grace O'Sullivan, Orla Courtney and Sarah Keane for their dedication and support throughout the programme, and to my fellow mentor Paola Kennedy for her continued encouragement and teamwork.
Proud to be part of such a strong and inspiring Student Enterprise Programme. The future of enterprise in Kerry is very bright indeed!

Today is the Day ... the National Final of Student Enterprise Programme in Mullingar Park Hotel.
85 Student businesses from across the country have been selected for today's National Finals from the 30,000 that entered in September.
The Student Enterprise Programme is a fantastic opportunity for secondary level students where they get to set up their own business and do everything a real life entrepreneur would do….. from coming up with the business idea to marketing & writing a business plan. They also pitch their ideas and businesses which is great experience in public speaking.
We wish all the finalists the very best today

I always take the day out of my business to celebrate International Women's Day and today was so worth it. Hosted by KBN in the RDI Hub in Killorglin, this years guest speakers were Alana Kirk, Mid Life Coach and Helen Burns Action Coach. I left with lots of actionable takeaways and as always made new connections as well as reconnecting with old friends.

A day I aways look forward every year, the Kerry County Final of the Student Enterprise Programme! Held at Munster Technological University Tralee with it's new University status. Having mentored the students since September it's fantastic to see them overcome obstacles and create truly innovative busineseses, and even better as they earn money along the way. From 1st years right up, it is so rewarding to help foster a healthy appetite for entrepreneurship. Privileged to carry out this programme on behalf of Local Enterprise Office Kerry . Congratulations to all who took part and fingers crossed for more trophies from the National Final in May.

A fantastic day hosting the final of Kerry Student Enterprise Awards at Munster Technological University, Tralee.
It was great to have students back in the room again, albeit for a scaled back event.
Congratulations to all the winners and well done to everyone who took part in the programme over the past 6 months. Entrepreneurship is alive in Kerry! Thanks to Kerry Local Enterprise Office for making it happen!
