The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) replaces the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD), introducing harmonised packaging rules across the EU.
PPWR will have implications for many businesses, and our guest speaker, REPAK, will provide an overview of PPWR including who is classified as a ‘Producer’, what is identified as packaging and how this is reported. The regulation covers all businesses placing packaging or packaged products on the EU market, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers and e-commerce operators. It applies to all packaging formats, whether household, commercial or industrial.

2026 is a special year as we celebrate our Food Fair’s 31ST anniversary.
Our annual Food Fair will take place this year from Thursday November 5th to Monday November 9th.
Closing date for entry to the food competition is now the revised date of FRIDAY OCTOBER 23RD.

The Kerry LEO 'Best Emerging Artisan Food' Competition 2026, being run as part of this year's Listowel Food Fair, could well be your gateway to greater exposure and a spot on te shelves at Garvey's SuperValu Listowel💚

If you have a product that has been in production for two years or less, now is your chance to have it assessed by our judges.

At the very least, you will gain industry feedback while competing for significant prizes, including a cash prize of €1,000 for the overall winner.

As mentioned, the winning product will also be stocked in Garvey's SuperValu Listowel Garvey for a twelve month period.

In addition, there is a €250 cash prize for the seven individual category winners.

Little snapshot of our day ✨✨✨✨ NWED 2026

We are one week on from National Women’s Enterprise Day 2026; we would like to take this opportunity to say a huge “Thank you” to everyone who joined us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of National Women’s Enterprise Day. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in business, learn from those who have already navigated the entrepreneurial journey and build connections that can support future growth.

The schedule kicked off with Paola Self and Others doing a warmup session.

The day was expertly hosted by Elaine Kinsella, Radio Kerry presenter and Head of Music, national radio awards winner and RTÉ’s Today Show panellist.

Our keynote speaker was Oonagh O’Hagan, pharmacist, award-winning entrepreneur, and global business leader who is transforming healthcare retail.

A major highlight was the interactive “Leading Lights” panel discussion, which brought together four inspiring businesswomen representing the breadth of entrepreneurial talent across Kerry and Cork. The panel featured Christina Foley, Inish Living founder and director of Inish Living, the award-winning, B Corp-certified wellness brand based in Kenmare; Claire Morgan, McWilliam Bags owner of McWilliam Bags, a B Corp-certified handmade bag company based in Crosshaven; Shannen O’Reilly, TrustDish founder of TrustDish, a digital food allergy management system and app transforming how food businesses manage allergen information; and Virginia O’Gara, co-founder of award-winning vegan food and drinks company My Goodness and the Cork Urban Soil Project.

"Homegrown Hero” - In an inspirational fireside chat with Elaine Kinsella, Louise Quill from Tralee, founder of Tír na nÓg Childrens Foundation Tír na nÓg Children’s Foundation, shared insights into her significant humanitarian work, inspiring attendees with her commitment to making a positive impact.

It was a day full of uplifting stories, connections, inspiration, real-life experience; and networking opportunities.
