National Tree Week 2026 has officially begun! 🌲💚

We were joined by Uachtarán na hÉireann / President of Ireland Catherine Connolly, to officially launch this year’s celebrations, taking place from 8th–15th March.

Coillte is donating 100,000 trees this year and communities across Ireland are marking the week with a full programme of free events, shining a light on the many benefits our trees and woodlands bring to climate, nature, wood and people.

Discover what’s happening in your local area by visiting the Tree Council of Ireland’s website: www.nationaltreeweek.ie

Here’s a snapshot of what’s on this week:
🌲 Forest walks and talks
🌲 Webinars with industry experts

My late husband Brendan had this foresight when he planted Ballycahan Forest back in 1999. Sadly, the Department of Forestry didn’t, having missed all National & EU targets & made a complete mess of the Ash dieback debacle with their pathetic action plan & insulting, paltry reconstitution grants.
