Last weekend my 6year old dream came true when I met the best letter cutter Tom Little at this year's Féile na gCloch (stone festival) in Inis Oirr. It happened to be festival's 10th anniversary and so I decided to leave a present behind carved on local limestone. Sadly I didn't have enough time to complete the carving... Will be back next year (y)

Pat used to live in a small village outside Bantry, Cork.
Not many people outside that village had the honor to meet him, but many have heard the stories about him far beyond that village. I won't tell any stories, 'cos I may as well start a book. He was a regular in the local pub, his dancing partner was a broom, he wore a hat, and that was that.
This little poem he wrote himself to be carved on the headstone. Members of local community had to come together to literally pay their last respects to this man as he had no money, and so he left none.

Michelin three-star lunches and dinners!

On 18th June the annual Tír Chonaill Stone Festival in Glencolmcille, Co Donegal will unveil a unique fifteen foot high map made entirely from native stone from each County on the Island of Ireland.
