Very much in the spirit of giving, two local businesses have teamed up to provide a potentially life-saving piece of equipment for a rapidly growing part of Wexford town.

With the imminent relocation of the busy Clonard Medical Centre from Clonard Avenue to a new site on Clonard Road scheduled to take place early in 2026, Frank Flanagan of Intellisec Security and Padraig Murphy of Haven Pharmacy have joined forces with the medical centre to ensure that the surgery’s life-saving defibrillator is available to the community in the case of an emergency on a 24/7 basis going forward.
The security fit-out was completed by Intellisec, with Frank Flanagan being no stranger to first-aid himself as founder and former CEO of MarineWatch. Given his background, he was always struck by the lack of an available defibrillator in the Clonard area.

With the kind agreement of Dr Leslie Farinas and Dr Ann-Marie Leech, the surgery’s defibrillator will now be made available to the public for use in emergencies at the new practice location.
The collaboration sees Intellisec sponsor the special external heated cabinet for the AED, while the ongoing cost of pads and maintenance will be covered by Murphy’s Pharmacy. Wexford Order of Malta have also agreed to come on board and carry out regular inspections and maintenance on the unit, ensuring it remains in optimal condition, should it ever be required.
