As a follow up to our previous post on the Code of Practice produced by the HSE, employers are mandated to conduct a risk assessment to determine Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in their workplace under Section 19 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.

This systematic process involves identifying workplace hazards, assessing associated risks, and implementing control measures to mitigate harm. The same approach is applicable to assessing and managing IAQ in the workplace. If you require help in this assessment why not contact us at AerNua for a comprehensive evaluation/analysis. https://lnkd.in/eahFz3bU.

This Code of Practice produced by the HSE is a very useful document and provides a practical risk assessment approach to help employers make a reasonable determination of the Internal Air Quality (IAQ) in their workplace.

The Code offers practical insights, emphasizing the importance of ventilation, filtration, and holistic management of workplace contaminants. Prioritizing the air we breathe at work is key to a healthy and productive workforce. Let's try and create environments that promote well-being and productivity.

This article https://tinyurl.com/wza82ewu published in the Irish Times in September addresses Ireland's outdoor air quality challenges: The latest EPA report highlights PM2.5 as a significant threat to cardiovascular health which is mainly caused from solid fuel.

The Article further discusses ongoing initiatives currently in play to tackle this problem.

However, we think it’s also worth considering, the added benefits of improving our indoor air. Have you ever considered using an air filtration system and how it can help to improve overall health and wellbeing. For more information on AerNua’s air filtration system please contact us here:

Check out this article https://shorturl.at/qBCT5 from the IrishExaminer about how enhancing air quality in schools could reduce absenteeism.

Insights from the first WHO Europe indoor air conference revealed a game-changer: a study by Professor Catherine Noakes found classrooms with air filters had 20% fewer absences. It's clear—improving indoor air quality through ventilation or filtration is a simple yet impactful solution to reduce the transmission of airborne viruses resulting in healthier children at our schools.

This article https://tinyurl.com/2wa558ws from the HSE highlights the pros of vaccination as well as the importance of protecting individual and public health.

While vaccination remains a critical component of safeguarding public health, incorporating an air filtration system complements these efforts by creating a healthier indoor environment, reducing the risk of respiratory infections, and contributing to an overall sense of well-being.

It's time to reshape how we design our buildings, with health as the primary focus.

Higher levels of ventilation and filtration rates come with multiple benefits beyond infectious disease, including improved cognitive function.

We needed standards for clean, safe, drinkable water; we need them for the air we breathe too.

Read the article here:

Harvard professor Joseph G. Allen argues it’s time to reshape how we design our buildings to stop the spread of respiratory disease.
