I just need to give myself a pat on the back. I just finished draft #3 of my romance novel that I wrote on a whim. Since the war, I have been short on work as most of my students are connected to milliuim (reserve duty). I needed to fill my time and feel productive.

I have a final line editor scheduled for the end of the month and then I hope to self-publish by Channukah.

When life gives you lemons, make lemon meringue pie with a glass of sweet lemonade.

This year will be the year that I add being an author to my portfolio.

Okay, this is an odd request. I am writing a new novel and it's a detective crime novel. I am looking for a detective that I can bounce ideas off of. If you know of someone who speaks English and is willing to help (and get their name in the book), please PM me. Thank you.

Looking for a few more beta readers for my new romance novel. Preferably someone I don't know so there is no nepotism.

I want honest and candid opinions. If you know someone, please have them reach out to me at [email protected]

Thank you

I have been hit financially twice in the past few years. The first time was with Covid. I had signed a contract with someone to run an English course out of her mini private WeWork-style place in Yokneam only to be shut down because of Covid. I spent 6- months down and then I realized I had to convert all of my lesson plans from frontal to digital and I did just that. Then I was successful again working remotely. I even made a name for myself teaching for the Open U. Then the war struck and I was out of work again. Three courses from the Open U were cancelled as well as all of my students from an agency (they work with Israelis) and my private students too. Seems everyone is connected to the army and milliuim in some way shape or form. So, I wrote a book. I finished 75,000 words in 6-weeks. It is a romance novel. It is with a friend who agreed to do a first draft edit for free. I have already started on book 2. I am proud of myself.

Odd question. I am teaching the father of Tiferet Lapidot who died on Oct 7. He is going on a speaking tour and wants to improve his English. I'm preparing him for some questions he may get in order to improve his responses. Can you please give me some questions people may ask? Both sensitive and insensitive questions. He says he's already been asked how she died multiple times sadly. I want to prepare him for his responses. I have his permission to ask

In this post I have put so much mistakes that my students make. Some are going to be easy to spot when other’s won't be.

You're job will be to spot as much mistakes as you possibly can.

Do you know the different between speaking a language and living langauge? Speaking to me feels more of wrote and living, a language to me seems more seemless (but not flawless).

What I meaning is that when you live a language much more things flow naturally rather than the constant translation that go in your brain.

That is in the opinion of my colleague's and myself.
This post had some intermediate-level as well as advanced-level mistakes.

Please comment below as to what you think those mistakes were. If you like this, please let me know as well and I will write more just like it.

I find that when a student can actually see their mistakes, it puts more light on what needs improving.

Often we know when we are speaking incorrectly but we can’t put our finger on how to fix it. That is the beauty of seeing what we are saying.

That is a key element in my teaching. Ask me for details.

Now I know so many of you already have great English and are able to conduct business with no issues.

My question to you is, how many times do you think you’ve made mistakes that are almost indiscernible yet potentially catastrophic?

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and their eyes seem to bulge briefly? Maybe now you know why.

I honestly had a student who worked with a variety of people who went through a warehouse daily say “I like to do children” instead of “I like to have children”.

That's not something you want to advertise.

Do you do your best proofreading after you’ve sent your message?

Then hit send to me first!

Help a thief! Seriously? Do you want to help a thief? My friend, prepositions make a big difference. Help, a thief!

Let’s eat grandma. Ooohhh, gross!!! It’s dinner time, “Let’s eat, Grandma”

I like cooking my family and my pets. Seriously? Another gross one.

How about this: Grammar, the difference between knowing your s**t and knowing you’re s**t
