It always amazes me when I learn about another relatively isolated Jewish community that has weathered the test of time, in one shape or another. Even more interesting is that the synagogue still has its complement of Sifrei Torah from its founding in 1845, proving once again that older Torahs can still be used ritually and that a refurbished Torah today can be a solid investment.
