The Qin unified China. The Han dynasty made that unity last. Between about 279 BC and 139 AD, Han rule built a state run on Confucian ideals, counted and taxed millions of farmers, and pushed west into Xinjiang and Qinghai, where soldier-farmer colonies guarded the early Silk Road.
Our China: The Han Golden Age test measures your genetic relatedness to people who lived in that world. It draws on named ancient individuals from the Central Plains at Haojiatai and Jiaozuoniecun in Henan, frontier communities at Kuokesuxi, Shirenzigou, Wutulan, and other Xinjiang sites, and the highland settlement of Dacaozi in Qinghai. That is the difference from an ordinary ancestry estimate: you are compared to real people of the past, not only to modern reference panels.
The Basic test covers 5 individuals and the Advanced test covers 68, one of the largest single-test datasets we offer. Your report shows your similarity to each person, your ancient geographical origins on interactive maps, and a comparison with more than 50 worldwide populations. If you want the wider story of ancient China, the China: The post-Han Empire of the Dragon compendium bundles a broader set of tests in one order at a better price.

This is genetic relatedness to people of the past, for education and discovery, not a medical result and not a notarized family tree.
