Support the Needy
“Kerem Hamitzvot” – the positive commandment relating to a vineyard, belongs to you and your surrounding community, and as a result, you will receive all the merits for participating in this mitzvah. We at ‘Kerem Hamitzvot’, believe it is not sufficient to simply talk about the mitzvah, but in fact to actualize it. Whilst doing so, we not only want to improve the future for the y
outh workers in our vineyards, but we also want to assist the families of our community who find themselves caught up in the difficult cycle of poverty. As a result, we can help to improve the future of a number of beneficiaries. The opportunity to partake in this positive commandment of ‘the vineyard’, can be found in Moshav Tekuma, beside the city of Netivot near to Gaza. Each and every city in the world finds itself with both strong and weaker socio-economic populations. So too, in the city of Netivot. There are organisations already established that supply weekly basic food packages containing fresh fruit and vegetables for Shabbat and the week ahead. We at ‘Kerem Hamitzvot’ wish to be involved with these charities, and therefore, the majority of the produce from our vineyards will be bottled as wine which will be distributed among these needy families by these various organisations. Every bottle of wine will be labelled as a bottle that has been produced by ‘Kerem Hamitzvot’ – the ‘vineyard of good deeds’.
‘Kerem Hamitzvot’ will also contribute sugar, flour and semolina packaged together with our wine by our youth workers, and deliver them to the organisations who will distribute them with the ‘Shabbat packages’ in order to support these needy families. Your investment in our project will not only be helping at-risk youth, but will additionally be providing necessary and desperately needed help to our families in need.
