As 2023 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the journey of the past year in my self-employed venture. While it was undeniably a challenging year, it brought forth valuable lessons that have reshaped my perspective on entrepreneurship.

One of the key realisations was that the life of a self-employed individual is a dynamic and ever-changing landscape. Unlike the predictability of a traditional job, each month posed a unique set of challenges and surprises. This unpredictability taught me the importance of being proactive and prepared for any future changes, whether they were personal or influenced by external events beyond my control.

In the midst of the hurdles, I discovered a silver lining in the notion of competition. Instead of viewing my peers as mere rivals, I began to see them as potential collaborators. Engaging with competitors turned out to be an enlightening experience, as we shared insights, strategies, and even clients. This collaborative approach not only fostered a sense of community within the industry but also led to unexpected and significant successes.

The power of collaboration became evident in various joint ventures with competitors. By combining our strengths and resources, we were able to tackle larger projects, reach a broader audience, and enhance our overall offerings. These collaborations not only brought financial gains but also provided a support system, as we navigated the turbulent waters of self-employment together.

Moving forward, I am determined to carry this spirit of collaboration into the coming year. Rather than isolating myself in the pursuit of success, I recognize the strength that comes from a united front within the business community. The lessons learned in 2023 have instilled in me the importance of fostering positive relationships with peers, transforming what was once perceived as competition into an opportunity for mutual growth.
As the year comes to an end, I am grateful for the challenges and lessons that 2023 brought my way. They have shaped me into a more resilient and adaptable entrepreneur, ready to face whatever the future may hold. Lately, as a single mom of two small kids with special needs, I've kept them occupied, ensuring their well-being amidst sirens and sibling arguments, and managing my business.

It should have been another day at the office on October 8th, but Israel just came to a standstill. I, like every other Israeli, was in a state of shock, and horror. How could one possibly concentrate on kids, work life, and even cooking and washing the dishes?

For two weeks, I remained at home in our fourth-floor apartment in Tel Aviv with my children.

As a single mother to two young children with special needs, it was crucial to keep them engaged and ensure their safety amidst the sound of sirens and their sibling disputes.

Amidst all this, I also had to focus on managing my business.

With the tourism industry at a complete standstill, I had lost clients and my main client was still keeping things above water, I knew I had to help her as half of her team was either called up for reserve duty or unpaid holiday leave so she needed me more than ever.
So I set up my office on my bed and I did what I had to do while watching the news and getting updates on what was unfolding after that black Saturday.

Those 2 weeks felt like 2 months, but I managed to juggle everything and knew I had no choice.

I started to think about who would need my services now and how will things pick up.

The small business landscape faced significant disruptions in the aftermath of the 7th October attacks, as a considerable number of reservists were urgently called up for duty. This sudden mobilization strained the operational capacities of numerous enterprises, leaving offices with unattended tasks and administrative clutter.

The absence of key personnel and the ensuing chaos created a pressing need for support.

Six weeks after I noticed that more small businesses were going back to the work-at-home module and I was lucky enough to find 2 new clients who replaced the ones that left that fortunate feeling has given me more drive to build on this and look at things from a different perspective.

As we pray and hope for better times, there is a sense of coming together and building and learning that we can do things differently and be successful 🙏

למה את/ה מתלבט/ת אם לקחת עוזרת אישית מרחוק?

לפני קצת יותר משנה העליתי כאן פוסט על השינוי הגדול שלי להפוך לעצמאית ופתחתי עסק לשירותי משרד מרחוק לעסקים קטנים יחד עם שירות באנגלית עסקית (שפת האם שלי)

מה שקרה מאז ועד עכשיו, לא הספקתי לתעד כאן והזמן פשוט חלף לו עם הרוח ואני כבר בשנה השנייה שלי.

אימא'לה 😮 זה לא הרגיש לי שעבר כל כך הרבה זמן, אני כל הזמן נמצאת בהכשרה, לומדת עוד תוכנות חדשות וגם לעסוק בעוד תחומים שלא היו בתוכנית ואני עפה עם כל זה קדימה.

אני עצמאית וגם אמא יחידנית שזה שילוב מנצח לעסק שלי עם יכולת לקבל הרבה אחריות, לעמוד בכל המשימות ובלוחות זמנים.

נכון ששירותי משרד מרחוק נשמע פשוט מאוד על הנייר, אבל מעבר לעבודה האדמיניסטרטיבית יש צורך ללמוד, לוותר, להיות סבלנית, לתת ולקבל, ולדאוג למשימות של הלקוח והבנת הצרכים שלו/שלה שזה לא תמיד כזה פשוט ואני כל כך שמחה שאפשרתי לעצמי לפתוח את עצמי לכל מיני תחומים חדשים.

אני גאה בלקוחות שלי שהם בעלי חברות, יזמיות, סופרות ועוד והם מאפשרות לי לפתוח את הראש ולעשות את כל מה שאני אוהבת.
