Camtek’s 2024 ESG Update Report: Strategic Progress and Long-Term Vision

Camtek has recently published its 2024 ESG Update Report, marking another important step in the company’s evolving approach to environmental, social, and governance practices.

The report presents structured progress in key focus areas including emission reduction, inclusive hiring, and international sustainability standards, all aligned with Camtek’s strategic business goals and global stakeholder expectations.

The process was led by Iris Hirsch, in close collaboration with Yair Cohen and Noam Surkii from Shibolet ESG – Shibolet Consulting Ltd., who provided strategic support throughout the process.

🌿 Meaningful Milestone: Wix Releases Its 2024 ESG Report

We’re pleased to share the release of Wix’s 2024 ESG Report, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible business practices.

The report was developed through a collaborative process led by Wix, with contributions from both internal teams and external partners – including Shibolet ESG – Shibolet Consulting Ltd.

📢 סקר חדש של הרשת המקצועית ובית הספר למנהל עסקים HEC Paris (שכלל מעל 1,000 חברות מ-26 מדינות באירופה) מציג תוצאה מפתיעה:

61% מהחברות הנשאלות אינן תומכות ביוזמת "Omnibus" לצמצום רגולציית ה-CSRD. 🙅‍♀️

ההצעה של הנציבות האירופית, שפורסמה בפברואר נועדה להקל על העומס הרגולטורי – בין היתר על ידי העלאת סף החובה לדיווח מ-250 עובדים ל-1000 עובדים וצמצום נקודות הדיווח בתקן האירופי (ESRS). מהלך שצפוי להוציא כ-80% מהחברות מחובת הדיווח. 🧐

אך הסקר חשף תמונה שונה מכוונת הנציבות: 89% מהמשיבים סבורים שה-CSRD מגביר שקיפות למשקיעים ובעלי עניין, ושיעור דומה רואה בו כלי שמחזק את אסטרטגיית ה-ESG, משפר את הערכת הסיכונים ומחדד את ניהול ההשפעות. 🛡️✨

בעוד שחברות רבות תומכות בשיפורים כמו הדרכה טובה יותר ואוטומציה של תהליכים, רק מיעוט תומך בצמצום גורף של הרגולציה. למעשה, נרשמה תמיכה גדולה יותר (46%) בהעלאת סף הדיווח ל-500 עובדים, מאשר ל-1000 עובדים שהוצעו על ידי הנציבות – וזאת, באופן מעניין, גם בקרב חברות שהיו אמורות לצאת מתחולת הדיווח לפי ההצעה המקורית. 🤔

הממצאים שולחים מסר ברור, חברות רבות באירופה מכירות בחשיבות דיווחי הקיימות ככלי אסטרטגי בעל ערך, ולא רק כנטל רגולטורי. כפי שציינו מובילי המחקר מ-HEC Paris, "בזמן שהאיחוד שוקל שינויים במדיניות הקיימות, חשוב לזכור כי החלטות כמו ה-CSRD חייבות להתבסס על מידע מהימן – ולשקף את הקולות השונים מהשטח". 📈🌱

כניסת ממשל טראמפ לבית הלבן הביאה לשינויים נרחבים במדיניות ESG, קיימות ואקלים; חלק מהמהלכים היו צפויים והמשיכו את התבטאויותיו בעבר, אולם אחד היה מפתיע וקיצוני במיוחד- התנגדותו הנמרצת של הממשל למדיניות עסקית שמקדמת גיוון, שוויון והכלה (DEI = diversity, equity, and inclusion).

רשות ני"ע האמריקאית ביטלה את ההנחיות לדיווחי ESG מחייבים 📝🌎

ה-SEC הודיעה כי לא תממש את תוכניתה לחייב חברות ציבוריות לפרסם דיווחי ESG מפורטים על סיכוני אקלים ופליטות גזי חממה, שאומצו על ידה במרץ 2024 והיו עתידים להיכנס לתוקף ב-2026.

ההחלטה, שפורסמה במרץ 2025, מהווה תפנית מהצהרותיה הקודמות של הרשות, שהצביעו על כוונה להטמיע רגולציה מחמירה יותר בתחום ההשקעות האחראיות.

לפי ה-SEC, ההחלטה התקבלה לאחר שהתקבלו הערות רבות ואף תביעות משפטיות מצד חברות שטענו כי הרגולציה המוצעת מסורבלת מדי ומטילה עליהן נטל כבד.

בעוד שההחלטה עשויה להיתפס כצעד לאחור, חשוב לזכור כי הביקוש לשקיפות ואחריות בת-קיימא מצד משקיעים רק הולך וגובר.
📈בחודשים האחרונים, מדינות כמו קליפורניה וניו יורק בארה"ב, כבר העמיקו את דרישות הדיווח על ESG, ויחד עם המגמות הגלובליות המתחזקות, גם חברות רבות בוחרות להמשיך ולהתפתח בתחום הזה. על אף השינוי ברגולציה, הכיוון הכללי ברור – המגמה רק ממשיכה לגדול. ➡️🌱

חדש: בורסה ירוקה ראשונה הושקה בארה"ב! 🌱

רשות ניירות ערך האמריקאית (SEC), העניקה בשבוע שעבר אישור סופי להשקת Green Impact Exchange (GIX) – הבורסה הלאומית הראשונה שתוקדש לחברות ציבוריות בעיקר בתחומי האקלים ושפועלות לפי סטנדרטים של קיימות (ESG) 📈🌎

ה-GIX צפויה להתחיל לעבוד באפריל 2026 ותפעל בשלב הראשון במתכונת של רישום כפול. משמעות הדבר היא שהבורסה תאפשר לחברות שכבר נסחרות בבורסות מרכזיות בארה"ב (כגון נאסד"ק או הבורסה לניירות ערך בניו יורק) להיסחר בנוסף במסגרתה, בכדי להגיע ישירות למשקיעים המתעניינים בתחום – בתנאי שיאמצו את כללי הבורסה החדשה. 💪

בין היתר, חברות אלו יתחייבו להצבת יעדים ברי קיימא, יישום מנגנוני אחריות ברמת הדירקטוריון ודיווח למשקיעים בשקיפות מלאה לפי מסגרות מוכרות🌱📊

UN Takes Action: Global Shipping Charts Course for Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 🚢🌍

In a landmark decision, the UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a game-changing framework to decarbonize the global shipping industry by 2050. 💪

Set to take effect by 2027, this landmark agreement introduces both a global marine fuel standard and a carbon pricing mechanism—covering vessels over 5,000 gross tons, which account for 85% of the sector’s CO₂ emissions.

This is a major win for our planet and demonstrates the power of collective action to address climate change. 🌎❤️

This two-pronged approach aims to incentivize cleaner operations and penalize heavy polluters, ensuring a just and effective transition across the sector. Revenue from carbon pricing will support a newly created IMO Net-Zero Fund, investing in innovation and infrastructure in developing countries and protecting vulnerable economies like SIDS and LDCs from economic disruptions. 💰➡️🌱
