Management is not a craft that can be applied right off of MBA schools. It is rather the artifact made by multiple decision making road blocks splits that shape our decisions, which in turn make up our management road. As management is what we do every day in our personal and professional lives in our encounter with the environment, effective management is ultimately driven by good decision making
that is encapsulated in the aggregated sum of our decisions that make up the roads to our goals. On the one hand, it is a road in the sense of the actual brick or cement way in which we conduct ourselves or our business activities and on the other hand, it is a road in the sense of our experience of it on the way to our goal. Based in the psychological mindset of the individual and backed up by experience and knowledge, the act of deciding is the single most essential skill necessary in order to craft that road to the top. The worst decision ever to be made by an individual or a professional is not to decide. A non-decision is in fact a destructive decision. Taking this type of decision is gambling full force. A non-decider is hence a bad manager because while management is a road, it must have a destination and in order to reach a destination, decisions must take some calculations into account. Non-decision takes none and therefore it does not lead to good management. It is rather like jumping off of a cliff with the hopes of ending up on the top.
