Since few months I have been monitoring Hotels and Airlines pertaining to their advertisement strategy.
They are all majorly insisting end users to book directly. All of them are broadcasting special discounts and tempting offers when booking direct. This indirectly is a slow poison for Travel Agents Fraternity.
We unitedly need to have some strong voice and an aggressive approach to keep our industry sustainable pertaining to Travel Agents. I am sure everyone of you remember the days when these principles use to write "Contact your nearest Travel Agency to book ur arrangements" in various advertisements.
None of the sales team are able to answer such discrepancies and differences in rates. There are huge rate parity issues and none of the principals are concerned to sort this.
We need to work hard for keeping our business alive, we unitedly will have to make these principles realise the importance of Travel Agency in Tourism Industry. We all are slowly killing our own businesses if still we are not working on a strategy to overcome this situation.
Don't think we do not have any other option, instead think about our strengths and ways to make these principles understand the power.
