JG Mansion |2016 | House

Everyone understands the sentiment of a balcony. The view, the breeze and the feel. But have you experienced the versatility of a sit-out!?

A sit-out is not just an open space, it's your home expanding out into the nature. It's the point of man-made meeting the God-made abode. A place of transition. A space of magic.

This particular sit-out spills out from the living room. Thus it can be used as per the function calls. The lack of green space on the ground is compensated vertically as the green wall. The wooden cladding with, brass leaf motif gives it the lift of richness and character, making it a perfect space to Gaze.

JG Mansion |2016 | House

A Facade is not just what is transferred onto the roadscape, but also how the building interacts with its immediate elements. Any building and it's facade, especially in intimate residential setting, must blend in with the exterior landscape entities, Else the building will look alienated from its surrounding.

The rustic laser cut panels and raw brick cladding around the lift, which towers high in the elevation, delicately finds itself a place in this landscape around the porch. Brutalistic raw concrete porch anchors itself amidst the greens and Browns to create a harmony of colours and textures.

Footsteps to Future'

JG University - City Office | 2022 | Institutional Interiors

We were ideating a central entity to represent an institution that is resolute to provide Quality and Excellence in education. Thus came up with "Tree of Knowledge". Symbolising the ever giving and ever growing knowledge, providing means and protection to anyone who seeks it.

Thus the unavoidable central column in the reception was obscured as the abstract for of tree, made out of flexible MDF board. Ultimately the beams became its branches and the support entities were presumed to be the leaves. An abstract mural art of formulas erupting from the roots, gives an edge to the meaning of this element.

The abstract tree with its dynamic design and lighting stands out, even with otherwise radiating reception area.

'Footsteps to Future'

JG University - City Office | 2022 | Institutional Interiors

The first look of this futuristic and techno-powered institution must embody their core value - 'Excellence'

Thus the entranceway design was given major emphasis as we envisioned it as a peep hole to the excellence that lies within.

The digitization and tech savvy ideology of the institution was well represented on the name panel. The design Patten mimicking the digital signals adorned with motion sensor, flows along to give out a sense of knowledge transfer from the JG University. This also packs it with the drama and magnificence that it needs.

Wise use of ever classic materials as back panel, name and tag lines, binary representations and digital signals, gives it the power and respect it commands.

The glass entranceway, which is quite a contrast to the name panel provides a glimpse of the marvel interiors and acts as a 'Doorway to knowledge' which is precisely the aim of this esteemed institution.

'False ceiling Series'

Sandhip bhanderi's Residence | 2019 | House

More often false ceilings are introduced to provide concealed seamless ceiling lights. That was the primitive purpose of it - To hide the mess behind Finesse.

Here, we made light as a part of our false celing thus the line is blurred, where the ceiling ends and light begins ..

An amalgamation of metal light strip and wooden plank slices across each other to create a picturesque tango of two. The beige and white gypsum false ceiling makes for the perfect base for the main act to shine through (literally) in the center.

Together the false ceiling stands out and blends in at the same time with the whole space making it a significant element in the design whole.

'Porch Series'

Vallabhbhai Patel Residence | 2018 | House

Porches in the early ages included a shaded seating area, which acted as a place to sit and chat with neighbours or a place of rest for the travellers. As time went by, the world expanded and people's heart contracted, the porches were more of a private entryway with a covered area to get to the house directly from the vehicle.

This fact ensured that the greenery near this zone was limited as the driveway became the predominant requirement over nature. A segregated garrage with a direct entry to building was a boon to this house as it broke a generational curse.

Yes! 'A porch amidst the lawn of flowers, artefacts and seating with a ceiling to floor slopped stone roof'- none of which would have been possible with vehicular access.

'A warm welcome' is etched at the very sight of this porch, emitting a sence of calm serene peace. A stone footway leading to stone seating zone below the stone slopped roof, area tied together with lush green lawn and blends naturally with the built and the unbuilt.

'Porch Series'

JG Mansion |2016 | House

A porch is most likely the starting point of any house or building. It could be either designed as an extension, or a seperate entity or the part of the building with special emphasis.

JG mansion is an extremely space savvy design with minimal set back areas. Hence defining the porch as a seperate space without taking up volume and not suffocating the zone was the design brief.

This contemporary building is totally set and complete in its elevation on its own. Thus it makes much more sense to provide this porch canopy as an entire different entity with exposed concrete, glass and metal elements. This gives it a breezy and open feeling, yet there is a sence of permanence and sturdiness due to the material's characteristics. The contrasting luminance and colour on the steps gives it an upbeat and grabs our sense of direction.

'Material Board series'

Sumitra Sagar Apartment| 2013 | House

A material board gives us the spectrum of aesthetics used to create the said space. Each element of it must somehow connect with every other element like a web of wonder.

I would like to call this the 'Hetero-Genius' ensemble.

This bedroom is one such ensemble which stands out by blending in together. A constant colour tone of white and beige is taken and is represented in various materials and textures. The patter of straight projection that reflects in both ceiling and wall panelling gives a sense of relevance.

It's really astonishing how the same colour is projected and felt different withchange on material and texture. The almost n**e palatte acts as the perfect base to highlight bright tapestries.

'Material Board series'

Sumitra Sagar Apartment| 2013 | House

Being an Architect demands us to be materialistic (In a quite literal sense). The form, void, recession, projection, curve, dent are all accentuated when textures, patterns and colours come together.

This seemingly simple handwash area has a unique full packed material board with elements both blending and standing out.

The play in mix of opposites was both madness and genius. Neutrals and colour pops, chequered and flower pattern, n**e pallette with bold luxurious materials, Glass on metal, Matt and glossy, dark underlays and highlights. Together they come out to portray different moods and stimulates various emotions simultaneously.

'Skylight Series'

Arvind Rub-web Limited| 2019 | Office-Factory

Clerestory lighting is not new to architecture. In fact can be even called as the 'Windows of the Pharaoh!' .

Hot air rises up and cold air stays down. A simple scientific fact has been put to excellent use in the design of these clerestory windows which are one of the firsts of skylights to ever exist.

Here in this linear workspace of the factory, this skylight cuts across inbetween the vertical and the horizontal, giving the space further volume and character.

This technique not only reduces heat inside, but also helps in releasing the existing heat making the spaces worthy of the pharaoh's.

'Facade Series '

Puniska Healthcare | 2019 | Office Factory

It can't be Classy, if it's Glassy!. Wrong!
Glass is the only material that provides us Protection and Visibility. No other material can do both as effective as glass.

Thus it is only natural for us to use it copiously in this facade design, to amplify both the interior and exterior of this office-factory.

The use of glass, even though translucent, ensured that the change in interiors is partly seen as background in exterior, giving it an unplanned dynamism with interior space transition.Simple fins and regid entrance porch, with stone cladding cuts right through the glass layer giving it a division without much diversion.
