šŸ†šŸ’§ A proud moment for VIKSAT!

We are delighted to announce that VIKSAT has received the SDG 6 – Winner recognition in the NGO category at the Global Sustainability Awards 2026. 🌿
This recognition celebrates our continued efforts towards water security and sustainable water resource management in rural and tribal communities.

Our approach combines supply-side interventions, such as watershed development and water harvesting, with demand-side measures, including crop water budgeting, water literacy, and efficient irrigation. By encouraging behavioural change and community participation, we work towards ensuring that water resources are managed responsibly and sustainably.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the communities, field teams, partners, and supporters who are part of this journey.

šŸ’§ Together, we are working towards a water-secure future and more resilient rural livelihoods.

šŸ„ššŸ“ From Poultry Farming to Market: Strengthening Rural Livelihoods

A 3-day poultry farming training camp, organised by the Government from 10–12 August 2026 at the AART Resource Centre, Kheroj, Khedbrahma Block, Sabarkantha, brought together 100 beneficiaries from Poshina and Khedbrahma blocks.

Under the Jeetega Kisan Programme, supported by DCM Shriram, VIKSAT is promoting poultry farming as a sustainable livelihood opportunity. The training focused on improved poultry practices and high-performing breeds such as Sonalika, Kadaknath, and Rhode Island Red (RIR), known for good egg production, adaptability to local backyard conditions and income potential from both eggs and meat.

šŸš€ From Production to Market

A key highlight of the programme was the launch of packaged egg sales through SAFE – Sabar AART Farmer Enterprise Producer Company Ltd., promoted by VIKSAT.

Eggs produced by beneficiaries will now reach consumers through organised packaging and marketing. This initiative creates an important link between farm-level production and organised markets, enabling farmers to move beyond production towards value addition, enterprise development and better income opportunities.

The programme was attended by Dr. K.G. Brahmxatriya (RJD, Gandhinagar), Dr. P.S. Bara (DHO, Sabarkantha), Dr. Khadim Husen (Veterinary Officer, Himatnagar), Dr. Kamleshbhai (Veterinary Officer, Khedbrahma), Ravindrabhai Wagh (Programme Director, VIKSAT), Rameshbhai Patel (Senior Field Coordinator, VIKSAT), and Kanubhai and Rajubhai (Livestock Inspectors).

🌱 Strengthening Farmers. Building Enterprises. Creating Markets.
