Greetings from CIIE

I am glad to let you know that we are now accepting online applications for Start-a-thon, a youth entrepreneurship program for student entrepreneurs. Although, the application deadline in May 28th 2014, we highly recommend that you fill out the application as soon as you can. This will allow us sufficient time to review your application and do a telephonic call, if needed. We will select only the TOP 32 candidates for the program - so, make sure that you include all the relevant information that would help us take a call.

What are we looking for?

Start-a-thon is not just about starting up. It is a bootcamp that will give you all the tools to begin your journey. That being said, we are approaching this with a novel method that requires you to think out of the box and most importantly, think on your feet. So here's what we will look for in your application:

1) High technical expertise in the functional area that you choose, supported by evidence. For example, if you choose 'design' as your functional area, show us that you you are great at design. Samples of your portfolio, projects, etc will only help you present a stronger case.

2) Ability of taking an initiative. Start-a-thon is all about making things happen. Likewise, we are looking for individuals who have the desire to 'make' something. Call it a makers-club if you may. We'd love to know about the initiatives that you have taken: be it creating a website, organizing an event, or creating your own start-up.

3) Intuitive thinkers. Creating a path breaking solution for a problem requires you to step outside your comfort zone and into your customers shoes. Looking at the problem from various angles. Generating multiple ideas. The application form has space for such open ended answers. Be truthful about your abilities, but try and convince us that you are such an individual.

Since this is just an Idea contest, it won't require more than 10-15 minutes to fill the application form. Go ahead and apply now
