Dear all,

The Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) is the flagship scheme of BIRAC which recognizes and invests in innovative ideas in the biotech sector. The ideas should have clear potential to translate into commercial products/technologies. BIG supports individual entrepreneurs/ start-ups from ideation to Proof of Concept (PoC).

Special Call for BIG-NER would support innovative ideas ‘from’ and ‘for implementation/deployment in’ North East Region of India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura). The proposals should highlight the application of the potential outcome in North Eastern Regions.

Grant-in-aid support of up to INR 50 lakhs would be provided to startups and entrepreneurs for a period of 24 months.

BioNEST-KIIT TBI, Bhubaneswar is the BIRAC’s BIG Partner for implementation of the special call for NER.

And DBT BIRAC's Biotechnology Ignition Grant

DBT BIRAC's Biotechnology Ignition Grant is open for applications from 1st July 2022. Subsequently DBT BIRAC Special Biotechnology Ignition Grant for North East Region application is open from 15th August 2022. BIG is the largest early-stage biotech funding program in India. Funding grant of up to INR 50 lakhs to best-in-class innovative ideas to build and refine idea to proof-of-concept.
KIIT TBI in association with Mizoram University BioNEST is organizing a Grant Writing Session for potential applicants on 22nd July 2022.
The webinar is open for all innovators/startups, and the participants who attend the session will get a further opportunity for subsequent multiple one-on-one mentoring sessions on BIG grant writing with leaders of the startup ecosystem.
