Australia's international borders are a step closer to re-opening after the Federal Government announced the appointment of a company to develop the Digital Passenger Declaration.
The DPD will replace the incoming passenger card and the COVID-19 travel declaration online form.

Canada held a new Express Entry draw on May 31, inviting 5,956 candidates to apply for permanent residence.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited candidates with scores of at least 380. The new draw targeted candidates who are eligible for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Invited candidates have had at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada plus intermediate official language skills, among other criteria, in order to be eligible for the CEC.

Attention work permit applicants in India: If you applied under an occupation listed as essential in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) bit.ly/33FtQkJ, applications received in January 2021 are currently being processed.

Globally, if it includes a medical report submitted in advance, the processing standard for a complete Global Skills Strategy (GSS) bit.ly/33BWTWj work permit application is 2 weeks.

For all other work permit applications, including spousal open work permits and GSS applications made without a medical report submitted in advance, applications received in August 2020 are currently being processed.
