Aash Agri Farms, Mahind, is a beautiful and scientifically developed nursery with exceptionally healthy and well-maintained apple plants, which are expected to be available for sale this year.
The owners have put in tremendous effort to manage pests, insects and fungal diseases effectively. The nutrient management is excellent, and the nursery is equipped with a drip irrigation system, reflecting a scientific and modern approach to plant production.
It is genuinely a pleasure to walk through the nursery and see such healthy plants.
For years, we have relied heavily on importing apple plants from abroad. While imported planting material has played an important role in modernising apple cultivation, concerns have also emerged about the introduction and spread of unfamiliar pests and diseases. In this context, the development of scientifically managed local nurseries is a welcome and much-needed initiative.
Aish Agri Farms, Mahind, offers hope to local farmers by producing healthy, grafted plants on M.9 T337 rootstock, with different Gala varieties. If the plants maintain this quality and are properly hardened and handled before transplantation, they could offer farmers a more reliable locally available source of planting material.
