Sentinels of Time
Twin forms rise like guardians from the
soil — eroded, steadfast, and solemn. Their surfaces are inscribed with the marks of history: centuries of memory and ritual etched into clay. They stand as witnesses to endurance, keepers of what the earth has seen and chosen to remember.

Each circle is a story —
of earth and hand,
of touch and time.

Formed from dust and pigment,
they hold the quiet memory
of places unseen,
of soil once moved by wind and rain.

In their textures lie the echoes
of ancient landscapes —
mountains worn to whispers,
rivers dried to song.

No two the same,
yet all bound by the same pulse —
the slow breath of the ground,
the turning of seasons,
the endless work of becoming.

Each circle is a story,
and together they sing —
a chorus of the soil,
a map of what endures.

I made this piece using the coiling technique and fired it in Gamanvi .

Gamanvi is a train kiln that utilizes a bourry box and a unique flue system to achieve atmospheric firing conditions . This kiln is designed to encourage ash deposits on the pots and create natural ash surfaces similar to those in Anagama kilns .
