Job Description – *Operations Manager*
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years

Department: Operations / Production / Quality Coordination

1. Position Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational activities, ensuring smooth workflow across production, calibration processes, quality, dispatch, and administration. The role demands strong leadership, process control, team management, and the ability to drive operational efficiency as per company standards.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Operations & Process Management
Plan, organize, and monitor daily operations to ensure timely task completion.
Maintain smooth workflow across production, calibration, QC, logistics, and service teams.
Ensure all processes follow company standards, SOPs, and compliance guidelines.
Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement measures (Kaizen/5S).
Monitor machine/ equipment utilization and ensure minimal downtime.

B. Team Management
Supervise production operators, technicians, calibration staff, and support teams.
Allocate daily tasks and shift-wise responsibilities to team members.
Monitor attendance, discipline, and work behavior of staff.
Train and guide employees to improve productivity and quality output.

C. Quality & Compliance
Coordinate with the Quality team to ensure all jobs meet accuracy and quality standards.
Implement safety procedures and ensure safe working practices across the unit.
Ensure documentation, calibration records, production reports, and logs are maintained properly.
Support internal/external audits (ISO/ NABL if applicable).

D. Customer & Dispatch Coordination
Ensure timelines for customer commitments, delivery schedules, and dispatch targets are met.
Coordinate with Sales, Service, and Customer Support teams for daily priorities.
Monitor TAT (Turnaround Time) and take actions to reduce delays.

E. Reporting & MIS
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operational reports.
Monitor KPIs — productivity, efficiency, downtime, rework, rejection trends.
Report deviations, operational issues, and improvement plans to management.

3. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and team-handling skills.
Excellent planning, coordination, and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of calibration/ manufacturing/ engineering processes.
Good understanding of quality systems, safety standards, and documentation.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Proficiency in MS Office, scheduling tools, and reporting formats.
Strong communication and discipline-enforcement skills.

4. Education & Experience
Graduate or Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering (preferred).
MBA in Operations (added advantage).
Minimum 5 years of experience in operations/production management in manufacturing or engineering service industry.
Experience in calibration or metrology industry will be an added plus.
