National Librarians' Day in India is celebrated on August 12th each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the "Father of Library Science in India". The day honors his significant contributions to the field and recognizes the vital role librarians play in promoting knowledge and education.

Central Library, Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya also celebrated National Librarians' Day 2025 to pay sincere tribute and homage to Prof S R Ranganathan.

New milestone achieved for the College and the Central Library ❤️

Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya have successfully extended its space alongside the Central Library by inauguration of newly Students Reading Room & Knowledge Centre funded by P.C Chandra Group (under Gyandhara Prokolpo) and College General fund.

The Reading Room was inaugurated on 06.05.2024 by Joint DPI and Additional DPI in presence of Honorable Principal of Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Honorable President of Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya, IQAC Coordinator, NAAC Coordinator, Library staffs ( Librarian, Library Clerk, Library Assistant) and faculties of the College.

Total six computers are installed for study purpose with internet facilities where students can search Internet for seeking knowledge and Information.

Every students, faculties and others staff of the college as well as Library Professionals, LIS Students, outsiders etc are requested to visit the Library OPAC.
