August 12 is National Librarians' Day in India. It marks 134th birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (1892–1972), the father of Indian library science. On this auspicious day the Central Library, Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya also celebrated National Librarians' Day, 2026 to pay sincere tribute and homage to Prof. S. R. Ranganathan
