Alif has successfully completed Week 1 of its 16-week Performing Arts Management program—marking an important milestone in what is emerging as a significant step for the arts ecosystem in India.
Bringing together a cohort of 18 budding arts managers from across the United States, Mauritius, Malaysia, and India, the program reflects a shared commitment to building capacity and strengthening the future of the performing arts. By July 2026, this cohort will enter the field equipped with tools, frameworks, and perspectives to support artists and cultural organisations in meaningful ways.
The first week focused on core building blocks—mission and vision development, alongside SWOT analysis—framed specifically within the realities of arts practice and management today. The depth of engagement and exchange has been both encouraging and inspiring.
As the program progresses, a range of facilitators will contribute their expertise across diverse areas of arts management, further enriching the learning experience.
At Alif, we believe that investing in people is key to building a resilient and thriving arts ecosystem—and this cohort is a strong step in that direction.
What, in your view, is the most urgent capability arts managers need today to better support artists and cultural organisations?
