BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre India) had an idea of developing a highly specialised probe for performing certain tasks within areas that were prone to high nuclear radiation. The requirements were to be fulfilled not just in a regular environment but in an environment, which was subjected to high nuclear radiation, high temperature, and high mechanical stress.
