The moon has been my companion on almost every night that I chose to wake in my own shadow. It has seen and heard every whisper that reached no ears. I have the faith that it will lend its shoulder without asking then why wouldn't I be obsessed with it!

ताक

गीले सूखे पत्ते मेरे पैरों के नीचे
पापड़ की चूरी सा शोर मचाते
आँखें बंद, सासें दबी,
एक पेड़ से जाकर लिपट गयी
कहीं जाग न जाये बन राखस
जंगल के उस छोर पे जाना है
मेरे पैरों को कुतूहल के पंख लगे
पेड़ों की चादर जो आँखों से ओझल हुई
परदे के पीछे से जैसे
निकला हो कोई आकाश नया
हरा समुंदर अपनी ही मस्ती में
गुनगुना कर बुला रहा हो जैसे मुझे
दो पेड़ों की डालियों से लटक रहा है
वोह विशाल झूला, मैं बैठ गयी
उड़ चला वह मुझे लिए बादलों से मिलने
रेशम की रुई के वोह मुलायम गद्दे
सूरज की किरणों की बाहें
और मैं थकी हुई कई जनमों से
आँख खुली तो नीली चांदनी में
ऐसा लगा जानी पहचानी दो आँखें
बड़ी देर से मुझे देख रही थीं!

Winds springs of my spine

I see faces smiling; I hear empty words

I am off to swing in the woods
I am off to ride on the waves
The pain gets into the bones

I am off to the mountains
Finding a long lost boulder
Together go rolling down the cliff
Or to cry on its shoulder

Following the Higanbana
I am off to find my peace
It had to be somewhere here
But it's not now anywhere
