Rituals

The Sun rises, the Moon
Never forgets to wax and wane
The birds wake themselves up
Chirping, come sunshine or rain

The seasons change
As if someone set the memos
The world changes costumes
From oceans to the meadows

All actions set to a clock
The world thus moves on
I find in me these rituals too
To a calling, deep within, I am drawn

Sleepy eyes look for you
As they open their windows
The thoughts hold on to yours
Even in the middle of this chaos

Evenings arrive usually with quibbles
As the dull ache finds its way back
Nights brew anticipation and prayers
On a smolder that colours them black

Every word inside moves in silence
Lest the world sees the pain
The doors shut before my eyes
Will the wounds be torn open again?
