Sourdough Pizza ❤
A treat to Italian Cuisine. Sourdough pizza is a original pizza with no yeast, no milk or sugar added. A sourdough pizza is a eye opening experience with a simple crust and chewy texture gives the pizza nice and earthy feel.
Sourdough , however, must be made with what we call a 'starter'. The starter is made from a combination of yeast and naturally occuring lactobacilli. When you make a regular pizza base, your key ingredient is active dry yeast which reacts with gluten to make the dough rise.
The ideal temperature for all of your sourdough stages is a warm place at 22-24°C/70-75°. In cooler room temperature the starter will take longer to become active so allow for more time between feeds. At warmer room temperatures the starter will become active more quickly and will need feeding more often.
