At Ecoparadigm, sustainability isn't a slogan — it's a way of life. As we mark World Environment Day, we join hands with communities and changemakers around the world to reaffirm our commitment to a cleaner, healthier planet.
This year’s call to action, "Beat Plastic Pollution", is a stark reminder that the convenience of today should not become the burden of tomorrow.

Plastic waste clogs our drains, chokes our ecosystems, and contributes to the invisible crisis of microplastics in our soil, water, and food.

At Ecoparadigm, we advocate for practical, scalable solutions — whether it’s promoting energy-efficient systems, responsible waste management, or encouraging sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic in our daily lives.
Our approach is simple:
♻️ Reduce what we don’t need.
♻️ Reuse what we can.
♻️Reimagine how we design systems — for energy, water, and waste — that work in harmony with nature.
Let this day be more than symbolic. Let’s innovate, implement, and inspire. Together, we can reshape our environment — one mindful choice at a time.

On this Earth Day, as we reflect on the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” it’s time we turned our attention to a silent hero in the climate story: wastewater.
Often dismissed as a burden, wastewater holds untapped potential. With effective treatment and circular solutions, it can be reused for agriculture, industry, and groundwater recharge—easing the pressure on our dwindling freshwater resources.
But that’s not all. When managed smartly, wastewater becomes a source of renewable energy. Biogas can be produced from sewage through a process called anaerobic digestion, where organic matter in sewage sludge is broken down by bacteria in the absence of oxygen. By capturing biogas from sewage treatment, we not only generate clean power but also reduce methane emissions—a major contributor to global warming.
In a world facing both water stress and energy transitions, wastewater can be the bridge—turning a waste stream into a resource stream.
This Earth Day, join Ecoparadigm to champion integrated solutions that address water, energy, and climate in one sweep. Let’s recognize that the power to protect our planet lies in how we manage our waste, our water, and our willingness to innovate.

Vruthi 2025: The Clean Kerala Conclave was held from April 9–13, 2025, at the historic Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram. This five-day international event brought together global experts, policymakers, startups, investors, administrators, media professionals, and the public to engage in meaningful dialogue on sustainable waste management, circular economy solutions, and climate resilience.
We at Ecoparadigm were proud to participate and showcase our work through our exhibition stall on the palace grounds. Our Managing Director, Pravinjith Kp , was also part of a distinguished panel discussion and spoke about leveraging AI and IoT to improve solid waste management at source.
Grateful for the opportunity to be part of this vital conversation shaping a cleaner, more sustainable future for Kerala and beyond.

We are pleased to share that Ecoparadigm's efforts to save water has been recognised by the Government of Karnataka.

With summer temperatures soaring, it is in our interest that we plan judiciously so that not a drop of water is wasted. The country has 18 percent of the world’s population, but only 4 percent of its water resources, making it among the most water-stressed in the world. Along with Ecoparadigm, you too can engage in saving this precious resource through Rain Water Harvesting, Waste Water Management, Water management and much more. We are there to help you to customise solutions! So join hands with us in making the nation water surplus!

The water cycle is fundamental to sustaining life on Earth, ensuring the continuous movement of water through evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. However, human activities have disrupted this delicate balance, leading to water scarcity and pollution. In India, we can easily implement several measures to restore and maintain the integrity of the water cycle:
1. Preventing Water Pollution
A significant portion of India's water bodies suffer from pollution due to untreated sewage and industrial waste. For instance, many of our rivers that we consider sacred is heavily polluted from various sources, including industrial discharge and other activities.
To combat such pollution, stricter regulations need to be introduced, but more importantly implemented.
2. Implementing Rainwater Harvesting
India receives an average annual rainfall of 1,180 mm, but only about 8% of this rainwater is harvested. Implementing rainwater harvesting systems can significantly bolster water availability. Such systems can meet up to 70% of a household's water needs, reduce water pollution, and mitigate urban flooding.
3. Enhancing Wastewater Treatment
India generates approximately 72.4 billion liters of wastewater daily. However, a substantial portion remains untreated due to inadequate infrastructure. For example, in 2003-04, Class I cities and Class II towns faced challenges in managing wastewater, leading to environmental pollution. The Indian government now mandates bulk consumers to reuse 50% of their wastewater by 2031, aiming to reduce the discharge of untreated wastewater into natural water bodies. Again, what is important is that these ideas need to be implemented.
Restoring the balance of the water cycle in India necessitates a multifaceted approach: preventing pollution, adopting rainwater harvesting, and enhancing wastewater treatment. These measures not only ensure the sustainability of water resources but also protect the environment and public health.

As we approach 'World Water Day', it is an apt time to start a conversation around water.
This year’s Water Day theme is ‘Save our Glaciers’, as the world observes that glaciers are melting faster than ever. As the planet gets hotter, our frozen world is shrinking, making the water cycle more unpredictable.
While it is important to know how we can mitigate the phenomenon at a macro level, there is so much you can do at an individual level.
For instance, the re-use of treated wastewater has become a viable option to minimising water scarcity problems. The world’s population is growing rapidly, but we’re currently on a troubled path when it comes to water conservation. However, with smart strategies, such as effective wastewater treatment, and a shift toward greater open-mindedness—especially from corporations, which has been rare in the past—we have the potential to reverse this trend and drive meaningful change worldwide.
At Ecoparadigm, we have been in this business of treating waste-water for over 20 years, using the DTS technology. More about the DTS in the next post. But if you are excited to learn at the soonest, do contact us!

India boasts the highest number of female graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) globally—about 40%. This is an achievement to be proud of. However, paradoxically, only 14% of them make it to the workforce. In civil engineering, for instance, just 23.2% of engineers are women.
Despite the encouraging trend of gender parity in STEM education, why do many young women shy away from core engineering fields? More importantly, why is their workforce participation in these sectors so low?

What are the barriers? Let us know in the comments!!

However, at Ecoparadigm, our women engineers take the lead confidently whether it is to face a client, supervise onsite, create work plans and designs.
Cheers to this 50% of the workforce!
