The MIT faculty experienced our program last month. This week, they brought us to their campus to conduct a workshop for their Student Leadership Council of nearly 100 students.

The objectives of the workshop were strategic thinking, visioning, sensitivity and empathy, and distinguishing between collaboration and competition. As it emerged, participants also took away learning on self-belief, individuation, focus, and self-awareness.

It was a gratifying day for participants, process owners, and us with real challenges, real collaboration, and real reflection.

We, now, look forward to the next step in our learning and discovery together.

What a month, September was.

Three vastly different programs. And three completely different experiences. It was a rollicking start with over 150 professors learning and reflecting through fun and openness. The energy was palpable—where educators rediscovered the power of play.

The following program sparked multiple insights, especially when the small cohort saw that trust begins with being vulnerable. Fewer faces meant deeper spaces.

We finished off while returning to an office space, where learning was intentional. Participants explored what it means to be a leader and to embody leadership.

Three programs, each revealing a different facet of how transformation occurs—through joy, exposure, and practice.

This line from Viktor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning" implies that we are more than our circumstances. He didn't write this from comfort, but from having lived it in the concentration camps and watching some prisoners crumble while others transcend their conditions.

A striking example is how Frankl lost his life's work—a manuscript on psychology—upon arriving at the camp. He didn't succumb to despair; instead, he mentally reconstructed his manuscript and refined his theories, even as his body was breaking down.

Frankl approached his darkest hours with curiosity, studying human resilience up close. He observed how prisoners who found meaning—through love, faith, or purpose—maintained their humanity while others became hollow.

The real challenge may be not what happens to us but how we choose to interpret and respond. I want to reread the book to see what more meanings I can derive.

Six months into this unexpected journey at TrueNature, I found myself staring up at a rock on our 12th anniversary celebration.

A 7-year-old was already scaling ahead of me while I stood there in excitement and with an overwhelming urge to bail.

I climbed. My first time. loved it, and I didn't make it to the top.

Two weeks later, I find myself wondering if I should be satisfied for stepping out of my comfort zone and whether I gave it my all.

Do I celebrate my attempt? Or be honest about not pushing through when it got tough?

I am sitting with what it means to try something new versus truly committing to it. Maybe this was just a beautiful one-time adventure. Or I'm discovering something about becoming the person who grabs climbing shoes and learns what it really means to ascend.

As organizations evolve into dynamic hybrid ecosystems, team members collaborate, lead, and contribute from anywhere. They are becoming more diverse, creative, and innovative than ever before.

Amid this change, what remains constant are the connections, shared purpose, the energy of celebration, breakthrough moments, and collective wins.

The future may not be just about perfecting hybrid work; it could be about reimagining the limitless potential of what organizations can become, exploring entirely new possibilities while refining what we already have.

I was searching for a literary figure to write about in a post on adaptive leadership. And as I was scanning my bookcase, my eyes fell upon Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird.

For me, Atticus Finch is a father, a teacher, and an unassuming leader. He is not rigid; he adapts. He empathizes, encourages, influences, and is entirely aware of the expectations, whether from his children, in the courtroom, or from his neighbors.

True to an adaptive leader, he reads the room, adjusts his communication style, and always approaches with empathy—even when it's unpopular.

Do share any other examples of adaptive leadership that stand out to you.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." - Lao Tzu

Every adventure, discovery, and transformation begins when I am brave enough to move forward curiously, even when there's no clear path ahead.

As I explore, I uncover.

What's your first step today?

Working with TrueNature has always been a great experience. I worked with them when I was associated with Aditya Birla Fashion & Lifestyle, and later Westbury Kommerce, between 2013 and 2023, and we have always been delighted.

The programs are experiential and supportive, helping us understand our team dynamics. The TrueNature activities put us in challenging situations and out of our comfort zone, where we see a whole different side to people. As a leader, I saw new potential in my employees and fresh perspectives.

"Am I enough?"

This question has quietly echoed in my mind for years—especially in relationships, both personal and professional. The self-doubt that follows can be painful. It makes me feel small, raw, even teary.

But something shifted for me during a recent Gestalt workshop.

As I revisited this familiar doubt during a process, I felt something unexpected emerge: anger. Not rage, but a clear, grounded anger. And instead of tears, there was power.

I asked the anger, "What do you want?"
It responded: "Stay in your power."

For the first time, I felt my vulnerability without collapsing into sadness. I felt strength. And the Gestalt prayer landed in a new way for me—it reminded me that honoring my needs, my truth, is not selfish. It’s essential.

This was a powerful moment of self-recognition.
I’m curious—have you had moments like this? When something inside shifted, and a deeper part of you took the lead?

I’d love to hear your story. Sharing these journeys matters. They connect us—and remind us we’re not alone.

What I’ve come to realize is this:
When fun is coupled with learning, the learning sticks longer. And it stays positive.

At TrueNature, we intentionally blend learning with fun—because growth doesn’t have to always feel heavy. When the heart is open and spirits are high, something deeper sinks in.

What’s a moment where fun and learning came together for you?
I’d love to hear your story.

“Courage is found in unlikely places.”

— J.R.R. Tolkien

Resilience helps us push forward. This readiness to move ahead while being fearful defines courage rather than the absence of fear. Using resilience makes you more brave. To me, this image is an example of what we need to hold onto during uncertain times. To me, it conveys the essence of treading into the unfamiliar, even when the world is overwhelming.

When was the last time you felt your surge of resilience?

Today's reflection:
When there's a passage amidst a heap of boulders and rocks with some light coming in, would I peek in, sneak through, or crawl to the other side? The lure "to know" is a powerful motivator.

In his book Beyond Boredom and Anxiety, M Csikszentmihalyi describes this state of adventure as *flow*, an "experience that is engrossing, intrinsically rewarding, and outside the parameters of worry and boredom."

Flow facilitates my experience of enjoyment, well-being, and competence. Through this, I learn more about who I am, and this learning stays.
