Sattva

Sattva We are a mission-driven organisation focused on scalable solutions for social impact. We partner w Sattva, in Sanskrit, means ‘true essence’ and ‘consciousness’.

The last 50 years have witnessed unprecedented growth leading to significant enhancements in the quality of life for most of us. However, it is undeniable that this development has also greatly increased inequality across the world, leaving behind more of us than we are able to take forward. We believe that addressing complex societal challenges requires a fundamental shift in the way businesses,

societies, governments and other stakeholders engage with each other. The aspirations of the 4 billion people who live today at the ‘base of the pyramid’ needs to be absorbed in sustainable and inclusive ways in the larger growth story. We believe that entrepreneurs, organizations and communities who come together and script solutions to these ‘opportunities’ will define the future course of our collective “tomorrow”. And this is why we exist – to pursue the goal of vanquishing poverty in our lifetime by co-creating models that are scalable, sustainable and globally relevant, by serving as a bridge across varied stakeholders, by designing and implementing solutions that can bring long-lasting impact. Sattva works with corporations, funders and social organizations on programs that today span 16 States in India, Nepal and other parts of South Asia.

Given the pace and intensity we have all experienced this year, we at Sattva believe it is important to pause, rest and rejuvenate, as individuals and as an organisation, to come back stronger in 2023.

Hence, we are going to pause all operations and work at Sattva in the last work week of the year 2022 - from 24th December until 31st December. This is in effect across all our locations and projects.

We will be back at work on Monday 2nd January, re-energised and ready for 2023.

Until then, take care and be safe. We wish you and your loved ones a happy new year!

Based on the success of the first instalment of the Accelerate for Impact Initiative in 2020, Sattva Consulting, in partnership with LeverforChange, launched the Accelerate for Impact Initiative APAC in September 2021 to build organizational capability for a cohort of 5 APAC organizations belonging to the Bold Solutions Network (https://solutions.leverforchange.org/)

Over a period of 14 months, the Cohort Based Capability Building program enabled the cohort members to gain actionable knowledge, build a network of peers, and apply learnings through 6 workshops, 40 hours of mentorship, and regular networking and governance support. Through the program, 60+ representatives from participating organizations came together to learn from experts and peers in areas such as fundraising, marketing and communications, impact measurement and people management.

We would like to thank the cohort members and experts involved in this journey for their active participation and continued support.

It is one of the earliest feminist voices of Northeast India. Today NEN has become one of the most credible feminist voices for the region nationally and globally. The team remains committed to carry forward its purpose for several generations to come and ensure a society that is equal and just for all.

With an approach that involves collectivising women from marginalised communities to enhance their capabilities, Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA) has been able to strengthen the livelihood system of more than 1 lakh women farmers. With the help of the community and its professionals working on the ground, it has also strengthened the Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Village Organisations (VOs), Producer Groups (PGs), and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) which have, in turn, impacted the lives of over 200,000 economically and socially deprived people in the villages.
