This is a reference of an aunt’s home in Dibrugargh, Assam. She is from a tea planter family and many tea planters in this region design their homes replicating the classic British style of Interiors.

“All it took, was to make this, into a classy look!”

Here I have designed & styled the entire dining room, right from getting those classic wooden table n chairs to go along with the wooden crockery cupboards in the background but all to get a nice complementary design with the light colored flooring & off white walls. The key elements to my designing were in adding those finer details to the table by the lamp, a few frames up on the wall with a subtle design between them and redecorating the style & look of the flowers & vases in front of the curtains.

In this project I was asked to pretty much restyle the look & feel of almost the entire bedroom. So, I began by adding a statement chair, designed those beautiful curtains with a fresh colour scheme giving the bed a suave new look & finally finished the designing by adding an elegant Vineer finished door. Giving this room a complex simple room..

“They say some styles & designs are timeless.. because
it’s beauty lies in your eyes”
? ?
For most south Indians, the idea of spending summers at their ancestral
homes brings back memories of childhood. Running around barefoot on
cool red oxide floors, climbing the mango trees surrounding the grand
home, running our hands over the heavy doors and pillars while playing
hide-and-seek and getting an oil bath in the courtyard. Homes like this are
soaked in old world charm and unbeknownst to most, rich in
craftsmanship and built with care to battle the heat and humidity of the
tropical south. Let’s go back in time to explore the beauty and thought
that went into crafting a Chettinad house, which can still serve as lessons
in designing homes for India.
