Power BI || Python || Seaborn || relplot || Custom Visuals in Power BI

relplot means relational plot , which shows the relations between two variables like the basic scatterplot (which is part of default visuals of Power BI)

You can run Python scripts directly in Power BI Desktop and import the resulting datasets into a Power BI Desktop data model.

To run Python scripts in Power BI Desktop, you need to install Python (www.python.org) on your local machine. You can download Python from the Python website. The current Python scripting release supports Unicode characters and spaces in the installation path.

I have used Matplotlib package A plotting library for Python. It provides an object-oriented API for embedding plots into applications.

Also I have used a simple logic of grading the revenue below and above of certain percentage and used the colors to display the information separately.

Same scenario was discussed in terms of DAX and regular Power BI Conditional formatting for a quick comparison of DAX and Python Script!! Helpful!?

Hi folks, how is this series ! need your feedback ! Today one more 𝐏𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐈 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 !!

Some time back I was working for one Client to create a 💲💸💰Financial model 💲💸💰 in Power BI ! One specific tile, we were working on , to show case Current Year Profit with Previous Year Profit and comparison !

I have had used default line chart in Power BI and given a complete view and I thought that I have done a good job , because I have used all formatting options available for Line chart including Line Types, Markers and shape option and so on! 📈💹📉

😒But client is not happy with the end result ! 😢

He wanted Profit (Growth or Decline) as a separate indicator with a proper legend ( ✌ till this its fine and available in default visual !!✌)

but the tricky part he wants separate markers and legend colors on same line chart 🔺 🔻 , (𝕧𝕚𝕫., 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗱),

and you know there is no conditional formatting for Line and Area Charts Data Colors! And you can't have different markers !

So I chose Python to create the same visual and presented the Chart the way client demanded (including the conditional formatting with separate markers on same line) and it was a great experience.

In EXCEL, While you are comparing Two Specific Years' Revenue, Profit , what Chart do you use ?!

IF you use a Pie Chart , then your Data Story is not clear to the audience and if you create a Clustered Column or Bar Chart , it is alright, but it makes your audience to think little more to understand!

But if you create Tornado Chart 🌪️( also called as Pyramid or Butterfly Chart 🦋 ) you will be able to convey the message very clearly, as this chart will be having the bars horizontally to show both the years' information side by side .
( 𝙞.𝙚., 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙇𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙎𝙞𝙙𝙚)
