🫜 Can beetroot help modulate caffeine-associated changes in arterial stiffness? New clinical research offers an interesting insight.

Caffeine is widely used in sports nutrition and pre-workout formulations. However, acute caffeine intake can also influence vascular responses, including arterial stiffness.

🔬A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study published in Food & Function and featured in NutraIngredients investigated whether nitrate-rich beetroot extract could influence this response.

The finding? Co-ingestion of standardized beetroot extract attenuated caffeine-associated increases in arterial stiffness, highlighting an intriguing area for further research at the intersection of dietary nitrate, vascular physiology and sports nutrition.

Bio-gen Extracts' TruBeet® is featured in this independent clinical investigation, reflecting our commitment to advancing ingredient science through rigorous research. 🫜

🧬 What do women really notice about their skin as they age?
Not what a marketing label tells them to notice - but what they actually see, feel, and think about when looking in the mirror. 👁️💭

Welcome back to Skin Unfiltered by CaroRite® - a series built around real, candid conversations that give formulators, researchers, and brands an unfiltered look into the skin concerns that genuinely occupy women’s minds.

In Episode 2, we explore what women believe drives changes in their skin from within. From heavy workloads, environmental pollution, and workplace stress to daily nutrition, women are increasingly connecting their outer appearance to inner lifestyle demands. ✨

For the industry, understanding these lived experiences provides essential direction for developing targeted, purpose-led formulations that meet modern consumer needs.

Better formulations begin with better understanding. And better understanding begins with listening carefully. 🔬

🧠 How are attention, cognitive processing speed, and the Eye–Brain Axis connected in teenage development?

In Episode 4 of Lute-gen® Weekly Bites, Dr. Adrian Lopresti explores key findings from the Lute-gen® teenage study and what they reveal about the relationship between ocular carotenoids and cognitive function.

Traditionally studied for their role in eye health, lutein and zeaxanthin are also found in the brain, where they may help protect cells against oxidative stress and inflammation.

In this episode, Dr. Adrian explores:

🔹 Why studying lutein and zeaxanthin in teenagers is important
🔹 How a six-month study observed increases in macular pigment optical density (MPOD), alongside improvements in attention and cognitive processing speed
🔹 How these findings complement earlier research in adults with mild memory concerns
🔹 What the growing evidence tells us about the Eye–Brain Axis 👁️🧠

Together, these studies add to our understanding of the relationship between lutein, zeaxanthin, eye health, and cognitive function, while highlighting the need for further research.

Stay tuned for the next series of Weekly Bites as we continue our Q.U.E.S.T. to help the world Choose Good Health™ through innovation and research.

🧬 What do women really notice about their skin as they age?
Not what a label tells them to notice.

What they actually see, feel and think about. 👁️💭

Introducing Skin Unfiltered by CaroRite® - a series built around real conversations that can give formulators, researchers and brands a closer look at the skin concerns that genuinely stay on women’s minds.

In Episode 1, we begin with a simple question:

What do women really notice about their skin after 40?
The conversation moves beyond wrinkles alone - touching on dullness, fine lines and pigmentation, and how some of the earliest changes women notice may be more subtle than we assume. ✨

For the industry, these voices matter.
Because before we decide what the next skin-health formulation should address, perhaps we should first understand what women themselves are noticing and asking for. 🧴🔬

Let's listen first to formulate better.
Welcome to Skin Unfiltered by CaroRite®.

🧠 What makes attention and cognitive processing speed important during the teenage years?

In Episode 3 of Lute-gen® Weekly Bites, Dr. Adrian Lopresti takes a closer look at the findings from the Lute-gen® clinical in teenagers and the broader science surrounding cognition during adolescence.

The teenage years are an important period for learning and cognitive development, with attention and cognitive processing speed being among the cognitive functions researchers study during this stage of life.

In this episode, Dr. Adrian explores:

🔹 Why the Lute-gen® study findings are important for teenagers
🔹 How attention and cognitive processing speed contribute to learning, comprehension and problem solving
🔹 Why these cognitive abilities matter during the formative years
🔹 The role of Macular Pigment Optical Density (MPOD) in research on the Eye–Brain Axis 👁️🧠

As research continues to explore the connection between the eye, brain and cognitive function, the Eye–Brain Axis offers an exciting new perspective on nutrition during adolescence.

Stay tuned for the next episode of Lute-gen® Weekly Bites, where we continue exploring what the research means for the Eye–Brain Axis.
