YouTube Unveils Top 10 Trending Videos Of 2017

Youtube has released its top 10 list of trending videos along with top 10 music videos that ruled the charts this year.Youtube list for india is expected next week. The music videos list is topped unsurprisingly by Luis Fonsi a Spanish song that recently became the most watched video with 4.4 billion views. It brokes the previous record set by PSY’s Gangnam style three years ago.Other music videos in the list include,

Ed Sheeran’s- Shape Of You
Bruno Mars- That’s what I like

The most interesting part about this years top 10 videos is that six out of these ten videos are Spanish.

The top 10 trending videos of 2017 include a variety of genres like covers of Shape Of You, a ping pong trick shots video from the Dude Perfect channel, and Lady Gaga's Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl video from this year's NFL finale.

The 10 top viral YouTube videos have racked up more than 633 million views (83 million more than last year's top 10 list) and have been watched for over 40 million hours. The top trending videos are, in fact, not the most viewed videos for the calendar and are based on YouTube's algorithm that takes into account a combination of factors including measuring users interactions

Ganesh Chaturthi 2017:

Pandals To Be Geotagged In Hyderabad To Monitor Them, Say Police

Among the various safety measures taken to ensure smooth Ganpati festivities, the Hyderabad police plan to geotag all Ganesh pandals in the city. The 11-day Ganeshotsav celebrations begin from August 25.

The system will help in monitoring on how the police officials are supervising the arrangements during the celebrations, Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahendar Reddy said.
"QR codes will also be provided to the pandals to verify their arrangements," he added.

Security has been stepped up and over 24,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city, Mr Reddy said. He added elaborate arrangements are being made for Ganesh idols' immersion on September 5.

"Rapid Action Force and Central Reserve Police Force personnel will also be on duty during the festival," he said.
A review meeting was held with officials of different departments, representatives of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti and other organisations to take stock of the arrangements, he said.
"Lakhs of people participate in Ganesh visarjan. In order to ensure that Ganesh visarjan is done in a peaceful atmosphere, all security arrangements have been made," Mr Reddy said.

CCTV cameras have also been installed along the main procession route to keep a tight vigil on the proceedings.
During the 10-day festival, devotees perform puja at Ganesh temples and beautifully decorated 'pandals' or makeshift platforms erected by various mandals and associations.

The idols of different sizes, shapes, colours and in myriad forms are installed on streets in major markets and residential colonies.

WhatsApp adds text-based Status updates.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp and Instagram have focused on Snapchat’s most iconic feature — Stories.

Where Instagram has managed to create its own Stories following, WhatsApp’s ‘Status’ version didn’t manage to create the same spark but given the high number of WhatsApp users, the feature was complimented well and amassed around 175million daily users.

Android O is officially called Android Oreo
It was about time some changes were made to make WhatsApp’s stories rendition to make it different from its competitors.

With the new update, WhatsApp lets you update your status with colourful, meme-like text posts instead of photos and videos.
The feature, which is currently being rolled out is a lot like Facebook’s colourful status update which came a few weeks ago.

Simply write snippet of text with a colourful background appearing and you can customise the font. You can also link out to other websites from within a text post much like what Snapchat recently introduced.

These changes take them away from the Insta-like pictorial aspect and focus more on text-based features.

It certainly foreshadows what the two apps are known for and the feature may fare well for WhatsApp.

WhatsApp rolls out major update for iPhone users
It remains to be seen whether WhatsApp becomes the go to app to update statuses updates but given the high number of WhatsApp users, any change will certainly benefit the app.

The feature is still in the rolling out phase meaning some users may not immediately receive the update.

Indian Railways: 5 myths and facts.

Under attack after the Utkal Express derailment, the railway ministry issued a statement emphasizing that it is not stinting on safety measures and claimed that there has been a decline in the number of train accidents during the NDA regime. Here are 5 facts shared by the ministry, which will bust your misconceptions regarding the Indian Railways.

Myth #1: Number of Railways accidents and fatalities have increased under Suresh Prabhu.

Reality: The consequential train accidents have continuously declined from 135 in 2014-15 to 107 in 2015-16 and further to 104 in 2016-17. To state a comparison, the average annual accidents during UPA I were 207 per year, during UPA II were 135 per year and during current government have reduced to 115 per year.

Although every human life is invaluable and is irreparable loss to us but the number of casualties have also seen a declining trend. Total fatalities in first 3 years of UPA I were 759, they increased to 938 during UPA II, while the first three years of this government has seen the number decline to 652.

Myth #2: Railways has lost focus on safety.

Reality: Safety remains one of the prime concerns and priorities for the Ministry.

1. When this government took over, analysis revealed that 40 per cent of the accidents and 60 per cent of fatalities were due to accidents on Unmanned level crossings. Hence, Mission Zero Accident was launched to ensure all Unmanned level crossings were eliminated by 2019. It has seen unprecedented success, where we eliminated 4258 UMLCs in last 3 years, leading to drop in fatalities from UMLC accidents from 64 per cent of total fatalities in 2013-14 to 16.81 per cent in 2016-17.

2. State of infrastructure is an important constituent to safety performance. The infrastructure had been deteriorating due to years of neglect, which requires huge investments. Investment in safety have increased from Rs 33972 Crore per year during UPA II to Rs54031 Crore every year under this government a jump of 60 per cent.

3. Congestion on tracks also has some impact on safety. Reduction in congestion is achieved by infrastructure upgradation which again requires huge capital expenditure. We have been working this regard also. Under this government, by the end of year we would be spending about Rs 4 lakh crore on infrastructure creation. In last 67 years since independence (1947- 2014) capital investment of Rs 4.9 lakh crore was made on Indian Railways.

4. In 2017-18, a Fund namely 'Rashtriya Rail Sanraksha Kosh' (RRSK) has been created for financing critical safety related works. The Fund has been created with a corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore over a period of five years.

5. Decision to stop production of ICF coaches, the main stay of Indian Raiwlays Passenger Business for many years, and having no anti climbing features was taken in 2015-16.

6. Existing stock of 40,000 ICF coaches (90 per cent of total coaches) cannot be discarded and hence is being retrofitted with CBC couplers to make them safer.

7. New technologies like Condition based monitoring system for rolling stock and Track and Ultrasonic Broken Rail Detection System are being piloted on the network.

Myth #3: Number of vacancies in safety positions has increased recently leading to a spurt in accidents.

Reality: Average vacancy in safety positions during the period 2009-10 to 2013-14 was 18.65 per cent of total sanctioned strength.

This has dropped down to 16.86 per cent in 2017 despite the sanctioned strength increasing by 5 per cent from 2014 to 2017. Further, during the current government we have recruited almost 37,510 people in the safety categories taking the total staff strength to 635940 on 1.04.2017. Massive recruitments of almost 2,00,000 staff in these categories are also lined up .

Myth #4: Railways has been dragging its feet to implement Kakodkar Committeerecommendations.

Reality: High Level Safety Review Committee had made 106 recommendations on various aspects of railway's working. Out of 106, 68 recommendations have been fully accepted out of which 52 have been fully implemented and 16 are under implementation. 19 recommendations were partially accepted out of which 13 have been implemented. 19 recommendations were not accepted by the Railways.

Myth #5: Railways has diverted funds to develop fancy projects like Bullet Train.

Reality: Indian Railways has unflinching commitment to the poor and the downtrodden as can be seen by a few examples:

1.Passenger fares are still amongst the lowest in the entire world. In fact, Indian Railways subsidises passenger and suburban travel to the tune of almost Rs 36,000 crore annually.

2.Antyodaya express - fully unreserved, super-fast trains with enhanced amenities such as drinking water, vestibule trains, LHB coaches etc were launched only to cater to unreserved segment.

3. Re 1 clinics were launched at important suburban stations.

4. Indian Railways ensures availability of Janta meals at all major stations.

Yamaha Fazer 25 vs Bajaj Pulsar RS 200: Spec Comparison.

A launch anticipated since the FZ25 arrived, Yamaha Motor India has introduced the all-new Yamaha Fazer 25in the country.

The model is essentially the full faired sibling of the FZ25, using the same components underneath its new skin. It has also been priced competitively at ₹ 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it one of the more lucrative sport tourers to take into consideration.

However, much before Yamaha, Bajaj Auto already cracked this code with its first full faired offering - Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

The sharper looking Pulsar arrived in 2015 and manages to offer more power and features over the Fazer 25. But is that advantage enough for the RS200? We do a quick specifications comparison between the new Yamaha Fazer 25 and Bajaj Pulsar RS200 to find out.

Both the Pulsar RS200 and the Yamaha Fazer 25 have a unique design language that has received polarising opinions. The Pulsar seems heavily inspired from a certain European electric motorcycle and is all about the cuts, lines and bulky fairing. It's hard to miss one on the road and it certainly looks good in the black and red colour scheme.

Another distinguishing feature on the RS200 is the LED tail light design that is controversial to say the least, but definitely adds to the distinctive identity of the motorcycle.

Yamaha designers seemed to have received similar design brief for the Fazer 25. The overall styling is different and centered around the single headlamp cluster. The fairing is sharp and has beefed up extensions on either side.

The same also incorporate LED DRLs, while the side fairing covers the engine unlike the 150 cc version. At the rear, things are far more sober on the Fazer 25, considering most components are shared with the FZ25.

The overall styling though could've been so much better than what we see here.
With respect to dimensions, the Yamaha Fazer 25 is the longer and wider bike here, while also sporting a longer wheelbase at 1360 mm. In contrast, the RS200 is taller at 1114 mm and also gets a taller seat height at 810 mm.

The Fazer's 795 mm seat height will be appreciated by shorter riders, while a ground clearance of 160 mm also helps it win brownie points.

The Fazer also gets a slightly larger fuel tank at 14 litres, which should give it a better range over the 13 litre fuel tank of the RS200.

Features.

Both models are up-to-date on the feature front and managed to check all the right boxes. The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 comes with twin projector headlamps while the Yamaha Fazer 25 uses an all-LED headlamp with DRLs. Both bikes get LED tail lights while Auto Headlamp On (AHO) function is standard. The RS200 continues to use the analog-digital instrument cluster from the Pulsar NS200, whereas the Fazer gets an all-digital instrument console carried over from the FZ25. Mind you, the RS200's unit looks much sportier.

Engine and Performance.

Power on the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 comes from a 199.5 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that makes about 24 bhp at 9750 rpm and 18.6 Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm. The liquid-cooled motor is paired to a 6-speed transmission. In contrast, the Yamaha Fazer 25 is a proper quarter-litre sporting a 249 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, but makes far less power churning out 20.6 bhp but at a lower 8000 rpm and peak torque of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm. Unlike the Pulsar, the Fazer 25 makes do with a 5-speed gearbox.

While the Bajaj motor is unarguably the more powerful one, Yamaha engines are known to be tad more refined. The Fazer 25 also has the weight advantage with a kerb weight of just 154 kg, making it about 9 kg lighter than the RS 200's 165 kg kerb weight.

Mechanicals

The Yamaha Fazer 25 uses a Diamond type frame whereas the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 gets a pressed steel Perimeter frame. Both units are modern and aid in decent handling as well as weight distribution.

Coming to the suspension setup, both machines use telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear. The Pulsar RS200 though gets a Nitrox monoshock setup that absorbs bumps well. Going by the FZ25, the Fazer 25 is also expected to boast of a comfortable ride quality, more so, in keeping with its touring credentials.

The Pulsar RS200 also gets the better hardware when it comes to braking performance boasting of the 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The Yamaha Fazer 25 uses a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm disc at the rear. What the Fazer 25 falters on, and massively, is the absence of ABS.

Bajaj Auto offers single-channel ABS on the RS200 as an option, which is a safety net all big bikes should have. Since Yamaha won't be offering the same until 2019, this does emerge as disappointing.

Price.

Bajaj Auto has always been known to aggressively price its products and the Pulsar RS200 has been no different. The non-ABS RS200 comes with a price tag of ₹ 1.22 lakh, which makes it about ₹ 7000 cheaper than the Yamaha Fazer 25 that is priced at ₹ 1.29 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The ABS equipped RS200 is marginally more expensive at ₹ 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it just around ₹ 5000 more expensive than the Fazer, but much safer too.

2017 Hyundai Verna: Variants Explained.

Hyundai India today finally launched the new-generation Verna sedan in the country, over a year after the car's global unveiling. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is built on the carmaker's new K2 platform, which also employs the versatile Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, offering major design and styling updates along with a host of new features.

As mentioned in our earlier reports, the new Verna will have four variants, which are the E, EX, SX and the SX (O) and the car is available seven colours, of which four are brand new. The variants are further divided into 12 iterations based on engine and transmission options.

Hyundai also offers a lot of features and equipment as standard across the four trim levels and we explain them to you in our detailed breakdown.

Hyundai Verna comes in four variants E, EX, SX and the SX (O)
The base variant of the new Hyundai Verna is pretty decently equipped compared to its counterpart from the previous-gen model.

On the outside, the car comes with standard halogen headlamps and taillamps, chrome surrounds for the grille, body coloured bumpers, door handles, and ORVMs, which are electrically adjustable and also gets integrated turn signal lights, and steel wheels with full wheel covers.

The cabin, on the other hand, comes with premium dual tone interior with fabric upholstery with back pockets and metal finished inside door handles and rear centre arm rest as well.

Coming to in-car infotainment and connectivity, the E variant of the Verna gets none. That said, the cabin is still fairly equipped with features like power windows with auto down features for the driver, air conditioning, electric power steering, tilt adjustable steering, cooled glovebox, dead pedal, power outlet, luggage lamps and more.

As mentioned before, quite a many safety features are standard across trim, so the E variant also comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking, seat belt pre-tensioner for driver and passenger, and ISOFIX child seat mounts among others.
