Why I Believe This Is the Right Time to Build in Bhopal

Every market goes through phases of disruption before it enters its next phase of growth. I believe Bhopal is at that point today.

The city is currently undergoing one of its biggest infrastructure transformations. Metro construction, road widening, service roads, utility pipeline works, and the monsoon season have temporarily affected mobility, retail activity, construction, and overall business sentiment.

As a result, many businesses are taking a wait and watch approach, choosing to postpone expansion until infrastructure improves and market confidence returns. To some, this may appear to be a slow market. I see it differently.

I believe Bhopal is approximately 6 to 12 months away from a stronger growth cycle, assuming the current infrastructure projects continue to progress as planned. With the city preparing to host the Global Investors Summit in January 2027, there is every reason to expect renewed investor interest and stronger economic momentum. Bhopal has long been recognised for its quality of life, planned development, and clean city initiatives, and the coming years are likely to strengthen that position.

Interestingly, my own journey aligns with this transition.

My original plan was to continue building my work in Dubai until around August 2027. However, geopolitical developments and the resulting slowdown in business activity accelerated my return to India much earlier than expected.

Looking back, I no longer see that as an interruption. I see it as an opportunity to build ahead of the curve.

Being in Bhopal today allows me to do what is often difficult once a market becomes highly competitive: build meaningful relationships, understand the ecosystem, identify reliable partners, develop strategic collaborations, and prepare projects before the next wave of growth begins.

This is not a period for waiting. It is a period for positioning.

For me, Bhopal offers more than affordability. It offers a practical foundation for building a business that serves both India and the Gulf region.

Its advantages are clear:

• Lower operating costs than larger metropolitan cities. • A strategic location at the heart of Central India. • Strong connectivity to Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and other major markets. • An established local network and growing business ecosystem. • The opportunity to build sustainable, long term business relationships.

Through my consultancy, my focus is on creating value by connecting opportunities across borders through:
