Job Description: Vegetable Seedling Marketing Assistant

Location: Ganjam, Main Vegetable Producing Blocks

Number of Positions: 4

Job Type: Full-time

Age Preference: 20-30 years

Role and Responsibilities:

Farmer Engagement: Organize and conduct regular meetings with local farmers to introduce the company's vegetable seedlings.
Effectively communicate the company's message and benefits to farmers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers to establish trust and credibility.

Team Building:Recruit and build a team of farmer agents to expand the company's reach in the region.
Provide training and support to farmer agents to enhance their understanding of the company's products and sales strategies.

Sales and Order Management: Generate sales orders from farmers for vegetable seedlings.
Coordinate with the sales team and ensure timely processing of orders.
Keep accurate records of sales transactions and maintain a database of farmer contacts.

Delivery and Payment Coordination: Coordinate with the logistics team for the timely delivery of seedlings to farmers.
Follow up with farmers to ensure prompt payment and resolve any payment-related issues.

Networking: Leverage existing networks and establish new connections within the local farming community.
Actively participate in agricultural events and fairs to promote the company's products.

Qualifications:

No specific educational requirement; however, a basic understanding of arithmetic is essential.
Personal integrity is of utmost importance.
Good communication skills in the local language.
Ability to build and maintain a strong network with farmers.
Requirements:

Age between 20-30 years.
Own a 2-wheeler and possess a valid driving license.
Strong familiarity with the local agricultural community.
Willingness to travel within the designated region.
Compensation:

Monthly salary: Rs. 8,000
Sales incentives: Up to Rs. 2,000-3,000 per month (payable after the season)
Additional Benefits:

Fuel allowance provided by the company on actuals, up to Rs. 3,000 per month.

-According to Davide Tonini in his case study " Environment impacts of Food Waste-Learning and Challenges" , the carbon footprint of avoidable food wastage ranges from 2000-3600 kg CO2-eq. t−1 .
-Studies have shown that avoidable food wastage occurs in four major sectors of the food chain namely wholesale and retail, processing, food service, and households.
- When a unit of these perishable commodities turns into waste, it ultimately leads to loss in resources used throughout the supply chain.
- Wholesale and retail is one of the main causes of food wastage mostly due to lack of coordination between the demand and supply due to short term food price variations leading to consequent changes in consumption.
-Lack of efficient transport facilities like refrigerated vans, railways specially dedicated towards transport of perishable commodities , roadways and the inability of wholesalers to preserve the quality of vegetables because of limited cold storage facilities in the country can also be considered as the causative agents of food wastage.
- In order to achieve substantial environmental savings, prevention measures should particularly focus on the households and transport, these being the stage of the supply chain having the highest influence and environmental impact owing to the large amount of avoidable food waste generated.

Field crop cultivation has been under spotlight recently due to its nature of emitting greenhouse gases because of soil disturbance, burning straw, and other field management practices involving burning of fossil fuels. Realizing which, establishment of systems is the need of the hour.
Perennial plants in forests, fruit orchards, and grasslands are efficient sinks of . Structural characteristics such as long life cycle, permanent organs such as trunk, branches, and roots, minimal to none soil tillage activities ,high quality and yield allow them to accumulate a significant amount of carbon.
Even though sea greens are the most efficient carbon sinks, trees also play a significant role here. With varying efficiency of carbon sequestration, combination of trees ensures increased productivity resulting in nutrient and financial security to the cultivators.
cultivation hence is the solution to the increasing global , wherein fruit trees play a major role in maintaining the ecological balance because of its “biological carbon sequestration potential”.
