As you all know, 17th May is a very special day for all of us. It is the foundation day of Art of Giving, a day we celebrate across the world by its millions of followers, with happiness, togetherness, and a spirit of humanity.

Like every year, we come together with a simple and meaningful thought. Today, we have declared the theme of Art of Giving 2026 – “Share to Shine.”

This is a very simple idea. When you share what you have—your food, your time, your knowledge, your love, your effort—you do not become less. You begin to shine from within. A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle; it only makes the world brighter.

I humbly invite all my dear members of the Art of Giving family to live this theme in your daily life. You need not have much. Share a meal with someone, give your time to those who need care, help someone learn, or simply offer a kind word. Even a small effort, done with emotion, can bring real light into someone’s life.

Let us share, and let us shine.

Happy to welcome Ms. Eunsong Kim and Dr. Shraddha Chickerur, representatives from UNESCO, to the KIIT & KISS campus on the occasion of the launch of the Sport and Physical Activity (SAPA) Impact Framework Report for India.

This initiative, developed in collaboration with the UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia, Sports and Society Accelerator (SSA), Victoria University, Australia, and KISS, presents a simple and practical way to understand the impact of sport in our lives. The framework has been developed over one year of study, involving over 2,000 students and alumni, along with interactions with parents, teachers and community members. It focuses on four important areas — Health & Wellbeing, Education & Lifelong Learning, Livelihoods & Economic Growth, and Equality & Social Inclusion.

It was good to see discussions on how sport can be included in education and daily life in a more structured way so that young people can benefit in a meaningful manner.

My good wishes to all the partners and participants for taking this effort forward for the benefit of society.

Happy to welcome the delegation from the University of Washington Bothell to the KIIT & KISS campus as part of the IndiaTrek programme.

The programme has brought 2 faculty members and 8 students, who are spending time on our campus as part of a project-based, credit-bearing international mobility initiative. During their stay, they are engaging in institutional interactions, industry visits and collaborative activities, which help them understand India’s innovation ecosystem, business environment and different ways of learning.

Over the years, more than 1000 students and faculty members from different countries have visited KIIT & KISS under the IndiaTrek programme, and it is always good to see this continued engagement.

I wish them a meaningful and enriching stay at KIIT and KISS.

Happy to inaugurate the 26th Youth National Volleyball Championship 2025–26 (Men & Women) at the Biju Patnaik Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, KIIT. It is encouraging to see young volleyball players from across India gathering here with enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

This championship, jointly organised by the Odisha Volleyball Association and KIIT under the aegis of the Volleyball Federation of India, has brought together 26 boys’ teams & 24 girls’ teams, along with nearly 1,200 players, officials and technical delegates from across the country. For the first time, matches are being played simultaneously on 6 indoor courts under one roof, creating a vibrant competitive environment for young athletes.

After the successful hosting of the FIVB Volleyball Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 earlier this month, this championship is another important step in encouraging volleyball and supporting young talent. I sincerely hope that this platform will inspire many promising players who will represent India in the future.

My best wishes to all the participating teams for a wonderful and memorable championship.

Happy to welcome Shri Bharat Lal Ji, Secretary General and CEO of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to the KIIT & KISS campus, where he delivered a lecture under the KIIT Knowledge Tree –Learn from Leaders series.

During his visit, he also spent time at KISS, interacted with our children and showed great interest in understanding the model of education and empowerment we follow. He shared a kind thought saying, “I came here to learn something for KIIT and KISS. I compliment Dr Samanta for this beautiful work. Education shapes the mind, culture, behaviour and thinking, and KISS is life transforming with its education.”

His encouraging words are a source of motivation for all of us who continue to work with dedication for the education and dignity of tribal children.
