“NO means NO”.
I’m sure most of you must have listened to this statement by the Big-B of Bollywood in a popular movie of 2016.
Can you recollect the context and situation when, where & why was this said?

The trending news of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata since 9th August 2024 has forced us to revisit the necessity of the Safety & Security of Women at Workplace.

Today, all Corporates have a responsibility to Prevent, Prohibit and Redress Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace as per The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 - a law commonly known as PoSH Act 2013. In this aspect of corporate governance, AABSyS IT Pvt. Ltd. has been playing a leading role. It has formed Internal Complaint Committees (ICC) in all its operating locations. This is vital and the need of the hour.

It’s a great pleasure for me and Hiteisee Consulting to add value to the agile, alert, aware and knowledgeable Team members of ICCs of AABSyS IT on 31st August 2024 in their state of the art office in Bhubaneswar, on the nitty-gritty of the PoSH Act 2013 and its conjunction with BNS – The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.

The nuances of
* Workplace,
* Unwelcome acts / behaviour,
* Aggrieved Woman,
* Sexual Harassment,
* ICC and its quasi-judicial role,
responsibilities, peculiar and unique sensitive issues were discussed in-depth, providing clarity to the inquisitive minds.

It was an occasion for the ICC members to do a self-analysis and self-assessment through pre- & post-programme quizzes, in terms of the areas where they need to develop and what they need to do to bridge such gaps in meeting the required competencies of being ICC Member to deliver justice & fairness to the victim.

Thanks to Mr. Arun Patnaik, Co-Founder, CEO & Director; Mr. Ananta Mishra, CAIO; Ms. Namita Priya, DGM-HR at AABSyS IT for facilitating my presence.

In an ASSOCHAM Education Council report of 2017, it is found that a student while joining a professional course has these concerns:
· The Placement
· Salary statistics
· Discounts offered on the fee structure

This findings has been validated in many orientation programmes where I have interacted with students in various B-Schools and Technical institutes.

I was pleased to be a part of the Orientation and Induction programme for the 1st year MBA & MCA Students (2024-26 batch) of Gandhi Institute For Technology (GIFT) Autonomous on 27th August 2024 in their scenic campus in Bhubaneswar, as the Guest of Honour.

Orientation programme serve as a foundation for institutes’ success. It sets a lasting impression for new students and their families. The main purpose of a good orientation session is to bridge the gap between the professors and the students, ensuring a smooth two-way, help students acclimatize to their new educational milieu, establish rapport with teachers, peers, and become acquainted with the resources and support services available to them.

A comprehensive orientation for the new students:
· Provides information that will ease the transition into the Campus
· Paints a precise picture of the department and the institution as a whole
· Introduces the new students to institutes goals, policies, procedures, customs and traditions
· Conveys the Faculties expectations
· Relieves the new students anxieties about starting a new course
· Inspires the new students to have a good attitude toward the institute/University and his/her new role.

Addressing to the concerns of the fresh students regarding employability, I shared some reality check regarding from the India Skills Report 2023. There is nothing to be scared about. Plenty of opportunities are available in the market. But the students have to earn the job, by making themselves Corporate Ready.

With my long and deep learnings in Talent hunting, having interviewed thousands of prospective candidates for senior, middle, junior levels and fresher using BEI technique, I shared the corporate perspective through LSIP, as to what Traits, Competencies, Attitude, KSA, etc. we look for in a Corporate Ready Person (CRP) in terms of:
· Basic Skills
· Hard Skills
· Soft Skills

It was an occasion for the students to do a self-analysis and self-assessment in terms of the areas where they need to develop and what they need to do to bridge such gaps in meeting the required competencies of a CRP, during the period 2024-26.

Thanks to Mr. Patitapaban Panda, Director, GIFT Autonomous; Dr. Hemant Kumar Panda, Dean (MBA); Mr. Samir Ranjan Panda, OSD; for facilitating my presence there.

The programme was ably coordinated by Ms. Sipra Karmakar, Asst. Professor and Mr. Jagdish Patra, Student of MBA 2nd year took great care & hospitality.

Am I Future Corporate Ready?
This is the question which each student must ask themselves, irrespective of the branch of study, who are aspiring to enter the corporate world.
I was happy to have got an opportunity to interact with the brilliant minds pursuing MBA and M.Com in the Department of SFC in Shailabala Women’s (Autonomous) College, Cuttack on 24th August 2024 as a part of their Career Acceleration Programme (CAP).

It was an occasion for the students to do a self-analysis and self-assessment in terms of the areas where they need to develop and what they need to do to bridge such gaps in meeting the required competencies of a CRP.
Thanks to Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash and Mr. Brahmananda Rout for facilitating my presence there.
The programme was ably coordinated by the Faculties Mr. Bidhu Bhushan Acharya, Mr. Subham Sahoo and Ms. Priyanka Mishra.

Are you aware about the difference between “ ” and “ ” of our national flag? I’m sure most of our Gen-Z and millennials don’t know.

Every year on August 15th, we celebrate our Independence Day, a national holiday that marks our independence from the British colonial rule. On this day, the national flag is hoisted by the Prime Minister at the Red Fort in Delhi. In contrast, on Republic Day, January 26th, the flag is unfurled by the President. These two different ceremonial practices symbolize India's freedom journey and constitutional principles.

On Independence Day, the term "HOISTING" is used because the flag starts at the bottom of the pole and is raised upwards by the Prime Minister. This action symbolizes the rise of a new nation, patriotism, and freedom from colonial rule.

This year on 15th of August, I had the privilege of hoisting the national flag as the Chief Guest at the Multi-Disciplinary Centre on Safety, Health & Environment ( ), Bhubaneswar. The emotional vibrations within was reverberating with patriotic fervor.

One fact I realised that, we have not learnt lessons from our independence struggle where the British rulers used the divide & rule tactics. Now also we are divided in the name of caste & creed.

While our neighboring countries are burning with fundamentalism, foreign interventions through deep fakes attempting to destabilise them, we each one of us must be alert, agile, aware of such divisive elements in all spheres of society – both within and outside our motherland. We must thwart all such possible attempts to divide us, destroy our unity, integrity of our strong, bold and rising .

08/07/2020

The AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. Today, there are 874 business schools in 56 countries and territories that maintain the AACSB Accreditation. Besides, 190 institutions hold an additional specialised AACSB Accreditation for their Accounting programs.
AACSB-accredited schools have the highest-quality faculty, deliver relevant and challenging curriculum and provide educational and career opportunities that are not found at other business schools. AACSB Accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
Earning AACSB International accreditation gives multiple benefits for an accredited educational institution, its faculty members, and its students at all levels of study.
All top Business Schools of the world are AACSB accredited.
AACSB accreditation adds value and Brand Image in the eyes of Employer Corporates as well as prospective Faculties & Students. It enhances quality, performance, efficiency and enriches the value in Business Education.
In order you help Institutes / B-Schools / Universities gain visibility, value and business excellence, we in Hiteisee Consulting are organising a Panel discussion in this FREE WEBINAR with international experts in AACSB accreditation on 17th July, 2020 at 6.30 PM (IST).
