PM WANI - PDO, PDOA AND App Provider

The Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) scheme is an initiative by the Indian government to provide affordable internet access to rural and remote areas. The scheme includes three entities: Public Data Office (PDO), Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA), and App Provider:
PDO
Sets up, maintains, and runs PM-WANI-compliant Wi-Fi hotspots, and provides last-mile connectivity to deliver broadband services to subscribers. PDOs can get internet bandwidth from telecom or internet service providers (ISPs/TSPs) like BSNL, MTNL, RJio, Vodafone, or Bharat Broadband Nigam Limited. PDOs don't need to pay a license fee or register, and they don't need compliance or a license to distribute internet locally.
PDOA
Provides aggregation services to PDOs, such as accounting and authorization, to help them provide services to end consumers. PDOAs can buy any PM-WANI-certified PDOA software stack on the market, or they can get PM-WANI-compatible software from C-DOT.
App Provider
App providers can register online at the Saral Sanchar Portal, then sign up at the Central Registry. The Central Registry keeps details of all registered PDOs, PDOAs, and App Providers, and it's often used to validate requests between participants
