TAX DUE DATES: CBDT extends due date for filing of Income Tax Returns-

Due date for filing Income tax return by the tax payers whose accounts are required to be audited and who are required to furnish return of income for the Assessment year 2016-17 by 30th September 2016 have been extended till 17th October 2016.

TAX DUE DATES: Notification No. 35/2016-Service Tax, Dated 23rd June, 2016

Central Government hereby exempts taxable services with respect to which the invoice for the service has been issued on or before the 31st May, 2016, from the whole of Krishi Kalyan Cess leviable thereon, subject to condition that the provision of service has been completed on or before the 31st May, 2016.

TAX DUE DATES: Amendment in Section 206C (TCS Provisions) of the Income-tax Act vide Circular No. 23/2016 dated 24.06.2016:-

Question 1: Whether tax collection at source under section 206C(1D) at the rate of 1% will apply in cases where the sale consideration received is partly in cash and partly through bank and the cash receipt is less than two lakh rupees.

Answer: No. Tax Collection at source will not be levied if the cash receipt does not exceed 200000 rupees even if the sale consideration exceeds 200000 rupees.

Question 2: Whether tax collection at source under section 206C(1D) will apply only to cash component of the sales consideration and not on the whole of sales consideration.

Answer: Under section 206C(1D), the tax is required to be collected at source on cash component of the sales consideration and not on the whole of sales consideration.

TAX DUE DATES: The Income Declaration Scheme Rules, 2016. Notification regarding procedure to be followed for declaring undisclosed Income. Dated 19.05.2016

Form 1: As per Income Declaration Scheme, 2016, the declaration of undisclosed income is to be filled in Form 1.

Form 2: Form 2 is an acknowledgement issued to the declarant by the jurisdictional Principal Commissioner or Commissioner.

Form 3: Form 3 shall be furnished by the declarant to the jurisdictional Principal Commissioner or Commissioner for the proof of payment of tax, surcharge and penalty made after receiving Form-2.

Form 4: Form 4 is a certificate granted by the jurisdictional Principal Commissioner or Commissioner after submission of Form 3.

TAX DUE DATES: Notification no. 09/2016 dated 09.06.2016
The due date for quarterly furnishing of 15G/15H declarations received by the payer from 01.04.2016 onwards shall be given as follows:-
For quarter ending 30th June : 15th July of the financial year
For quarter ending 30th Sept : 15th Oct of the financial year
For quarter ending 31st Dec : 15th Jan of the financial year
For quarter ending 31st March : 30th April of the financial year immediately following the financial year in which declaration is made.
