2026年7月15日上午，駐清奈辦事處處長許書智正式頒發聘書予 Sumit Bothra 先生，聘任其擔任「南印度台灣校友會」（Taiwan Alumni Association in South India）創會會長，任期自2026年5月17日至2027年5月17日。
此次聘任展現駐清奈辦事處持續深化台灣校友網絡、促進台灣與南印度教育與文化交流，以及強化台灣與南印度夥伴關係的堅定承諾。透過凝聚歷屆赴台求學、工作或參加研討會等各種校友的力量，留台校友會將成為深化雙邊交流合作的重要平台，進一步促進人才連結、學術合作及民間友誼。
許處長對 Sumit Bothra 先生擔任創會會長表達誠摯祝賀，並期盼在其任內凝聚更多台灣校友，共同推動校友會穩健發展，持續深化台灣與南印度在教育、文化及人才交流等領域的合作，開創更多互惠共榮的新契機。
On the morning of July 15, 2026, Director General Mr. Stephen S. C. Hsu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Chennai, officially presented the Letter of Appointment to Mr. Sumit Bothra, appointing him as the founding President of the Taiwan Alumni Association in South India commencing from 17 May 2026 to 17 May 2027.
This appointment reflects TECC in Chennai's continued commitment to strengthening the Taiwan alumni network, promoting academic and cultural exchanges, and fostering closer ties between Taiwan and South India. We congratulate Mr. Sumit Bothra and wish him every success in this important role during his tenure.
