I landed my first podcast, as I was known for Quiz funnel copywriting.

My IG bio said I was a Quiz funnel copywriter.

Even Though I hadn’t posted any consistent content related to the quiz funnel on my feed, I was still talking about quiz funnel copywriting to my peers and in other groups.

And when someone in my circle saw referrals for quiz funnel copywriter to do a podcast interview, they immediately referred me to them
..because they know that I am good at what I do and they have seen me consistently work on Quiz funnel projects.

Also, people used to come to me for quiz funnel copywriting because no one was doing it at that time. They came to me because I was the only quiz funnel copywriter they knew.

For service providers, referrals or clients come from people we know or people who know people we already know.

So the more consistently you show up on social media, the more confidently people will refer you because you stay on top of mind.

People will come to you more confidently because your name keeps popping up, and they don’t know anybody else who knows what you do.

If you want to work with premium clients or have your own pipeline of dream clients or if you want to get consistent referrals from your own network, you need to start showing up consistently on social media.

The first step to having a social media presence is to be consistent on social media, especially for service providers.

When your clients refer you to other people, they will look at your socials. They can see the content you have posted and your engagement with others.

I landed a client who

👉 liked what I posted on a group,
👉felt I provided a lot of value and,
👉booked a call with me.

You can actively engage with Influencers, experts in your niche, past clients, or peers who can refer you.

It is the most profitable activity you can do by contributing and participating in other people’s posts when not posting on social media.

So when you start showing up consistently on social media, you become a Brand.

Brand is a promise of consistency.

This way people who refer you can do it confidently.

The more consistently you show up on social media, the more people will come to you because you stay on top of mind as your name keeps popping up.

Let me share my experience,

During my early years, I didn’t care much about social media. People would hire me by seeing my work on Facebook groups, networking events and even from courses that I took up.

I thought I was building relationships there and I didn’t need social media presence.

All of it changed when I landed a premium client with a high ticket project.

It was a two-partner firm.

The client who connected with me found me through a Facebook group where he had seen all the content I had posted.

We had a great conversation and he believed 100% that I could deliver the support that I was promising for their business.

But when the time came for him to loop in his partner, the first thing he said was, “I googled you“ before we got on the call because I had to tell my partner about you, and I couldn’t find a lot of information.

Your LinkedIn is not updated, and you are inactive on Instagram. So it looks a little sketchy. Can you please give us more information about your credentials and what you have done? It will make us feel more comfortable moving forward with you.

That was the first time I realized that I need to put out content.

How many times did my peers or past clients have to think twice before referring someone to me as I hadn’t put up anything concrete to point their referral towards?

I realized I was losing clients because my social media handles were not updated.

We often give ourselves reasons as to why it’s okay to not be consistent on social media by saying things like,

👉I don’t have time to show up consistently

👉I don’t have anything interesting to say

👉I don’t post because no one is going to miss out on it.

👉I don’t need to post content because it doesn’t directly impact my business.

These are the biggest excuses we tell ourselves, which we tend to avoid, especially service providers.

If you have been giving yourself any of these excuses, I want you to think about this.

Every single person who is working with premium clients at premium rates will tell you that becoming consistent with marketing has given them one of the best jumps in their career.

If you are worried about not being good with creating content…

Well... you probably won’t be.

And that’s the BEST part!

When you are starting out, you can make all the mistakes because not many people are going to look at it.

It’s like having a sh***y first draft before writing a really good copy.

Remember: You are not alone.

The entire premise of the current social media strategy to increase visibility is flawed.

What if I tell you Copywriters don’t need 10K followers to make a killer revenue in their business.

You don’t need your content to go viral.

But even if it goes viral, you don't have the time or energy to manage hundreds of leads at once.

So the social media strategy that you are trying to follow to increase your visibility/reach will not work for you.

~ You don't need to chase virality
~ You don't need to chase algorithm

Social media can skyrocket your visibility, especially for a service provider.

You can do that by creating content that

1. Establishes you as an expert/ authority
2. Helps you develop relationships with your key clients, peers, collaborators or influencers within your industry.

This should be the GOAL!!

This is not TAUGHT to service providers.

It is very critical. You need to

👉 look at their track record.
👉 check their work with their clients.
👉 enquire if they have worked with other people.
Identify if their work captures their clients’ essence & brand voice, or do they all look the same?

💯It is very important for your content to be in your voice 💯

If not, it’s going to feel like it was easier for you to manage social media before hiring another person.

You are going to double-check and re-do their work constantly.

It is the biggest reason people feel they spend too much time working on social media.

Last year, I was working on projects where I had to learn everything from scratch for every project and every new client. It was a challenging year, but it has led to the success that I see today.

And all of this happened only halfway into this month.

I am highly grateful to all my mentors and past and present clients who have supported and been the biggest cheerleaders for me to take big leaps in my business.

Most of all, I am very excited about the team I am building because we will be the core of developing something extraordinary at Elysienne.

I'm glad I can take a minute to celebrate and show gratitude before moving to bigger challenges.

Quiz funnel tech is complicated when compared to a regular funnel. Here’s why...

The outcome mapping quiz is simple, easy to create. The tech is relatively easy to set up and map because you’re only mapping the outcomes from one question. But, they aren’t as satisfying as you cannot customize the results.

The other type of quiz is complicated to set up but the result can be extremely satisfying. You take in multiple data points and give a result that is customized for the person taking the quiz.

This reminds me of the time where we had to set up this complicated scoring quiz for a client. Depending on the score we had to map the results for 16 different scenarios. We promised to build the quiz in 24 hours and we did it.

But it kept showing an error.

As part of our quiz funnel setup, we do rigorous testing for 48 hours to make sure there aren’t any errors. So, we kept testing to figure out the problem. We realized we were using words instead of numbers at our backend and for some reason, the software was not reading words properly.

Even for people who have built regular funnels, I always recommend speaking to someone who has done it before.

If they have never built a quiz funnel they might never understand the complications and the things that can go wrong in a quiz funnel.

These are the things that someone who builds regular funnels would not know.

So, it’s always the best idea to give it to someone who already builds quiz funnels and when something breaks, they will know what's wrong and fix it quickly.
