Black pepper,Cinnamon, Clove, Ginger, Cardamom…few names that people hear every day.
For a Chef, they spruce up their show piece -- Cooking. An office goer -- may be during a laid back lunch, a child during salad and pizza dressing. The truth is, from our early morning tooth paste to our post dinner digestive chewables, spices are an integral part of life.
Since time immemorial, spices have transcended cultures & civilizations across the globe for their medicinal & health values, adding taste to food, and also working as a preservative. It’s no surprise that explorers traveled the length of the globe for such treasured items, and considered them as their life quest.
Cuisines have flourished for ages through spices. Satiating the taste buds through time tested seasonings, along with innovative flavorings, they elevate the taste buds of individuals for a soulful and tasty culinary journey. Chefs across the hospitality industry travel to various Bazaars in India, Souks of Middle East and Mercados of Espana, to select the best spices for their ovens.
Their impact over centuries has been so colossal, that a major airline in India was launched with the name Spice Jet, with every aircraft in its fleet named after a spice. So, people were excited and loved it, when a Ginger or a Clove Fuselage, took them to dizzying heights. The experience of such take offs, meant that the travelers had a personally deep rooted experience at thirty thousand feet. Where else, would you find deep roots at such altitude? Wonderful paradox to be in!!!!!
Let’s not forget the Spice Girls from UK. The band that traversed the world through their songs in the 90’s.Their songs were so popular that,people were glued to television sets and live shows.
Today's world uses grounded mixtures of spices that have become so popular in cooking.An amalgam of such powerful & vibrant spices culminates like a rainbow,which is the boldest expression and explosion of colours from mother nature.
