Collaboration makes Project Planning healthy!
Compared to traditional way of managing, the projects following 5 stages of Last Planner System ® performs better in terms of Time, Cost and Quality parameters. The works are prepared, planned, committed and monitored throughout the project by practicing the following process in Lean Construction.
· Establish a common project goal and mutually agreed milestones (Master Scheduling or Milestone Planning)
· Define a clear flow, sequence and interdependencies of work to be performed to achieve milestone (Phase Pull Planning)
· Identify and resolve constraints (on timely manner), which may prevent smooth flow of work/process (Lookahead Makeready Planning)
· Prevent the ‘Planning failure’ and ensure the availability of Information, work environment & resources before final commitment (Weekly Commitment Planning)
· Learn lessons on daily basis from ex*****on failure to continuously improve project delivery and minimise repeating the planning failures (Daily Monitoring)
Following the healthy planning practices will streamline the flow of activities in construction projects which will leads to better utilization of resources as well as timely closure of work.
