🚀 CIIC | Interaction with BioNEST Startups

We are pleased to welcome
Dr.Dhananjay Tiwary
Managing Director (MD), BIRAC & Senior Adviser, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India , to Crescent Innovation and Incubation Council (CIIC).

The interaction with BioNEST startups at CIIC will provide an opportunity for meaningful discussions on biotechnology innovation, startup development, technology translation, funding opportunities and scale-up.

🧬 CIIC BioNEST is a facility funded under the BIRAC BioNEST Scheme, with Phase I and Phase II , established to strengthen the life-science and biotechnology startup ecosystem.

Through CIIC BioNEST, startups gain access to advanced laboratory infrastructure and technical facilities, including:

🧪 Analytical Lab
⚙️ Bioprocess Lab
🔬 Instrumentation Labs
💻 Bioinformatics Lab

These facilities provide startups with the infrastructure and technical ecosystem to develop, validate and translate innovative ideas into impactful solutions.

CIIC and AIC-CIIC team welcomed the leadership team from Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering https://dce.edu.in/ for an engaging interaction focused on exploring collaborative opportunities and strengthening institutional connections within the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The delegation included Dr.V.P. Ramamurthy, Chairman; Ms.Roopa K.S., CEO; Dr.Bharathi Raja N, Dean, Industry Relations; Dr.Renuka, Director, EDC; and Mr.Prakash Raj, Lead, Industry Relations.

The discussion centred on identifying potential areas of collaboration, sharing institutional capabilities, and exploring ways to create meaningful connections between academia, industry, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The interaction also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on building stronger ecosystem linkages and supporting emerging ideas and ventures.

A grain may begin the journey. But skilled hands determine where it goes. 🌾

On 20 September 2026, we were at Agro Food Trade Centre (AFTC), Madurai, for the inauguration of the Plate Mill Operator Training Centre—an initiative focused on building the skills behind one of the most essential parts of the food processing ecosystem.

For the flour (maavu) industry, better machinery alone is not enough. The people who operate, understand, maintain, and optimise that machinery matter just as much.

That is where this training centre aims to make a difference—equipping aspiring operators with practical skills that can translate into better efficiency, improved productivity, stronger quality practices, and meaningful employment opportunities.

As the Technical Support Partner, Crescent Innovation and Incubation Council (CIIC) is proud to support this initiative with technical expertise and contribute to the development of a more skilled and future-ready food processing workforce.
