The Recognised Graduate Temporary Visa for Australia is for applicants that have graduated from selected universities around the world. It allows them to gain up to 18 months of experience in Australia in occupations that are in demand. Applicants for the Recognised Graduate Temporary Visa must have graduated from a recognised overseas learning institution with a degree in Engineering in the last 2 years.
How does the application process work for a Recognised Graduate Temporary Visa?
The visa is a temporary visa for an 18 month period of time. Upon application you must meet all the below requirements:
• Be under the age of 31
• Meet the English language threshold
• Within the last two years have completed an Engineering degree at a recognised overseas institution
What does a Recognised Graduate Temporary Visa allow you to do?
During the duration of the visa the applicant is allowed to:
• Travel
• Work
• Undertake further professional studies
• Study to improve your English skills.
What is the criteria test?
The applicant must meet all of the below criteria:
• Age – must be under 31
• English Language – You have to achieve a score of at least six on each of the four components – speaking, reading, listening and writing of an IELTS test.
• Within the last 2 years have achieved a a bachelor's degree, masters degree, doctoral degree or postgraduate diploma / degree qualification in Engineering. The degree needs ot have a major element of specialisation in such fields as:
o Civil Engineering
o Structural Engineering
o Chemical Engineering
o Environmental Engineering
o Electrical and Electronics Engineering
o Mechanical, Production and Plant Engineering
o Mining and Material Engineering
• The degree must be from a recognised overseas learning institution
• Australian Social values - if you are aged 18 years or over, you are required to sign an Australian values statement and you are required to have read, or had explained to you, material made available by the government on life in Australia which is contained in the Life in Australia book.
• You must meet certain health requirements and character requirements.
