Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) successfully organised the Valedictory Session of the ATAL Offline Six-Day Faculty Development Program marking the successful completion of an enriching six-day academic and knowledge-sharing journey. The program brought together faculty members and participants for insightful sessions, expert interactions and meaningful discussions on emerging technologies, Artificial Intelligence and its responsible applications.
The successful conduct of the FDP was made possible through the continuous encouragement, guidance and valuable support of Dr. A. Valarmathi, Principal/CEO, VIMS, whose commitment to academic excellence and faculty development played an important role in making the programme a meaningful and impactful initiative.
The valedictory session featured a Special Address by Dr. S. Umamaheswari, Professor, who shared valuable reflections on the significance of continuous learning, emerging technologies and the need for educators to remain future-ready in a rapidly evolving academic and professional landscape. The session also provided an opportunity to reflect on the key learnings and experiences gained throughout the six-day program and to acknowledge the active participation and enthusiasm of all the faculty members and resource persons.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. K. Saravanan, Assistant Professor, who expressed gratitude to the leadership, resource persons, organising team and participants for their valuable contributions and support towards the successful completion of the FDP. The valedictory session marked not merely the conclusion of the program, but the beginning of a continued journey towards responsible innovation, lifelong learning and future-ready education.

Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) successfully conducted “The Leadership League”, an engaging Experiential Learning Session organised by the HR Club for the I MBA students on 22.08.2026 at the VIMS campus. The session featured a series of interactive management games and team-based activities designed to provide students with practical exposure to essential managerial and leadership skills. Through active participation, students engaged in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, teamwork, coordination and leadership challenges in an energetic and enjoyable learning environment. The activities encouraged students to take initiative, understand team dynamics, think strategically and collaborate effectively towards common goals, enabling them to connect classroom concepts with real-time managerial situations.
The session was conducted with the continued encouragement and support of Dr. A. Valarmathi, Principal/CEO, VIMS, whose vision for holistic student development promotes experiential and industry-oriented learning opportunities.
The initiative also received valuable academic support and encouragement from Dr. S. Umamaheswari, Professor, contributing to the overall learning objectives of the activity. The management games provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership qualities, strategic thinking, adaptability, interpersonal skills, communication and collective decision-making abilities through hands-on participation.
Overall, The Leadership League was an engaging and enriching experience that strengthened the managerial competencies of the I MBA students while fostering leadership, teamwork, collaboration, confidence and healthy competition.

Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) successfully conducted the Day 6 of the ATAL Offline Six-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Responsible AI, Deployment & Future Trends” at the VIMS campus on 22 August 2026.
The session was led by Mr. Anbarasu Thangavelu, Founder & CEO, Drishta Vidya LLP, who provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence and its responsible adoption across organisations. The session explored the importance of Responsible AI, focusing on transparency, fairness, accountability, privacy, ethical decision-making and human oversight in AI-driven systems. Participants gained valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities involved in AI deployment, including AI governance, data privacy, bias mitigation, ethical considerations and effective strategies for integrating AI into organisational processes. The session also highlighted emerging AI trends and future technological developments, emphasizing how AI can enhance productivity, decision-making, customer experience and organisational effectiveness while ensuring responsible and sustainable adoption. The engaging discussion encouraged participants to look beyond technological advancement and understand the importance of balancing innovation with ethics, accountability and societal responsibility. Overall, the session was insightful and knowledge-enriching, strengthening participants’ understanding of responsible AI practices, deployment strategies and future trends, while preparing them to contribute towards building ethical, intelligent and future-ready organizations

Vivekananda Institute of Management Studies (VIMS) successfully conducted Business Tycoon, an engaging entrepreneurship activity for I MBA students, organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell on 21 August 2026. The activity aimed to develop students’ entrepreneurial mindset, business awareness, teamwork, leadership and presentation skills.
As part of the activity, students were divided into teams and assigned to explore and present about successful companies and their founders. Through their team-based research and presentations, students gained insights into the entrepreneurial journey, business strategies, innovations, leadership qualities and key factors contributing to the success of prominent business leaders and organisations.
The activity witnessed enthusiastic and active participation from the students, providing them with an opportunity to connect classroom concepts with real-world business practices and learn through collaboration, discussion and presentation.
The activity was actively facilitated and supported by Dr. S. Umamaheswari, Professor; Dr. K. Durai, Associate Professor; and Mr. K. Damodaran, Assistant Professor, whose guidance contributed to making the session an engaging and meaningful learning experience.
The Business Tycoon activity successfully encouraged students to think like entrepreneurs, understand real-world business success stories and develop the confidence and skills required to become future business leaders.
