ASBM Industry–Academia Conclave 2026 | Day 1 – Pondicherry University & Auroville
Learning beyond the classroom begins with experiencing new places, people and perspectives.
The first day of the ASBM Industry–Academia Conclave 2026 – “Global Strategic Leadership through Automation and Innovation” took our MBA students to Pondicherry University, where academia and industry perspectives came together to explore the changing dimensions of leadership, innovation and automation. The event was graciously granted by the Chairman, Er.C.Sukumaran, Managing Trustees, Mr S Praveen Kumar and Dr Srinidhi Praveen Kumar.
We were privileged to learn from: Prof. Dr. R. Kasilingam, Senior Professor & Dean, School of Law, Pondicherry University facilitated on the Global Trade Practices, Evolution and Dr. R. Venkatesakumar, Professor, Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, facilitated on career planning and development, students had the opportunity to learn the different perspectives and approaches, Our sincere gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of Pondicherry University for their support, hospitality and encouragement. The program was facilitated by Dr Sundarapandiyan Natarajan, Professor and Director, and Coordinated by Dr P Vikkraman, Professor and Director for Research along with Mr R Lakshmikanth and Mrs S Krishnaveni, the faculty members of ASBM.
Beyond the academic sessions, the day offered our students an opportunity to discover the rich cultural and entrepreneurial spirit of Auroville. They explored its unique approach to sustainable living, social enterprise and community-based development, gaining perspectives that go beyond conventional business thinking.
The students also explored the heritage of Puducherry and the vibrant French Street, experiencing its architecture, culture, local businesses and unique blend of Indian and French influences.
For our students, it was not just an academic visit. It was a day of learning, observation, exploration and connecting business concepts with the real world.
At ASBM, we believe that management education is best experienced when students step outside the classroom and engage with the world around them.
